I was just looking for some insightful company, 'moldy. Besides, it's nice to hang around guys who are properly committed to Roma rather than just flitting in and out as suits them. Oh, and my lord do they know how to do 'optimism' over there. What's the team going to be on Sunday if Pizza and Aquilani are both out? Perrotta in front of DDR and Brighi? That doesn't make for much pretty technical football, but perhaps it'll be enough to get the job done. I gather we played more of a 4-1-4-1 again against Chelski. It's been years since I've seen DDR get forward as much as he did against Inter and while he had some lovely technical touches, it left acres for Muntari and others to run into and onto the back four. I wonder if there's any chance Menez might start - for either of the wide players? With Brighi, DDR, and Perrotta through the middle, Spags may think we can afford to do without Taddei's defensive contributions and Vooch is clearly just a little bit off the mark for some reason at the moment. Probably it has to do with the fact that he's been playing through the middle much more and needs a bit of time to settle back into the groove of the flank.

If Menez starts then I think he will take Taddei's spot. I don't know about a right flank with Menez and Cicinho, as that would leave the right side way too exposed defensively. Maybe he should start ahead of Vucinic, and that probably would be the spot that hes most comfortable with.

Yes, I agree that it would change the balance of that right flank a fair bit. I'm just half thinking that with Brighi alongside DDR rather than Pizza and with Perrotta through the middle, the balance of the side is a bit more solid and so perhaps we could afford to sacrifice Taddei's all-round contributions. On the other hand, so much of Udinese's threat comes from the flanks, so it may not be a good game to try this. One thing I will say the gods have gifted us - playing Udinese and Samp after they've been involved in midweek UEFA-cup games. It's so much harder when you get ambushed by a side who've had a whole week to train with their eyes on the game on the weekend. And, again, at least the Rube game will come when both sides may be tempted to have half an eye on their CL matches the following week. I'm not saying any of that gives me particular cause for optimism; I'm just noting that the schedule has been kind to us in those sorts of terms.

That's very true, Mr.Peanut. Lets just hope that we take advantage of this easier stretch in the schedule. I just hope we beat Udinese. We've been improving and its about time we were rewarded for it.

Quale stadio della Serie A si riempie di più ogni domenica di campionato? Secondo uno studio della Gazzetta dello Sport, è il San Siro frequentato dai sostenitori rossoneri, quello che ospita il maggior numero di tifosi, con un distacco di ben 20 mila posti dai cugini nerazzurri. Buoni sono anche i dati relativi alla Juventus che nonostante i "soli" 21mila presenti, è al primo posto nel primato nella percentuale di occupazione dello stadio con l'85,20%. Anche Fiorentina, Genoa, Samp e Palermo superano quota 20.000 tagliandi ogni weekend. In Europa però l'Italia occupa il quarto posto dietro a Germania, Inghilterra e Spagna che a ogni gara di campionato fanno registrare una media di 40mila spettatori contro i nostri 24.470, un risultato in crescita e comunque soddisfacente se paragonato ai numeri delle prime 7 giornate delle precedenti stagioni (23.341 nel 2007/2008, 19.382 nel 2006/2007). Ecco nel dettaglio le squadre che fanno registrare la maggior affluenza:

According to a study by the Gazzetta dello Sport, we have the third highest average in Serie A, with an average attendance of 38,000 so far this season. Roma: indicazioni positive da Pizarro per domenica

Pizarro ha giocato la partitella, dimostrando di aver smaltito i problemi alla caviglia, fisioterapia e corsetta per Totti. Il capitano, nonostante la botta accusata nella trasferta di Stamford Bridge, stringera` i denti e scenderà in campo al Friuli domenica, anche se non in perfette condizioni. Due notizie in qualche modo confortanti per Spalletti che, oltre allo squalificato Mexes, per la gara esterna di Udine deve già rinunciare ad Aquilani, Baptista e Cassetti, che infatti oggi a Trigoria sono stati impegnati nello svolgimento di lavoro differenziato.

Il resto dei giallorossi si sono allenati divisi in due gruppi differenti: alcuni si sono chiusi in palestra per svolgere lavori di potenziamento muscolare, mentre altri hanno svolto possesso palla, inferiorita` numerica e partitella nel finale.
