Mourinho: "Hard game against Bologna" - Friday, 03 October 2008 15:37:27

APPIANO GENTILE - JosÃƒÂ© Mourinho gave his Inter-Bologna press briefing after today's training session at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.

"My study of the match started yesterday, and to a certain degree they are a team that have surprised me," he said. "They won their first match against Milan and have lost their successive games, but this doesn't mean we can think we'll have the ball between our feet for ninety minutes. They're are a mobile team with some very dangerous strikers in attack. It won't be that easy. Bologna are worth more than their three points in the table."

With Burdisso and Materazzi ruled out through suspension and Cristian Chivu not fully fit, Mourinho has named three central defenders in his squad for Saturday's home match: Cordoba, Rivas and Samuel. "In all my teams there are only two positions for which I always try to have the maximum understanding, and these are those of the two central defenders," explained Mourinho.

"I try to give continuity to a precise pairing but it's not always possible so I have to look for the best alternative. We've had a lot of injuries in defence, some carried over from last season, and we have always changed men. But if you tell me that we have conceded in every match bar two since the end of the pre-season, I can reply that it's true, but it's also true that our opponents have scored one goal at the most and have never created that many chances to score more."

From tactics, to his relationship with Massimo Moratti and the role of protecting the team from outside disturbances, Mourinho explained: "The difference between 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 is five metres at the most.

"In my philosophy, the president is always right. You will never hear me comment on what he says. It's our business if we phone each other, if we see each other and what we say to each other.

"The man to attack is me. I'm the unpleasant one. I'm the arrogant one. It's my fault if we lose, and it's luck if we win. For me it's fine like this because I like my players to feel protected by their coach."

Roy Keane has refused to rule out a sensational swoop for his former foe Patrick Vieira. Sunderland were first linked with a possible swoop for Vieira, now with Internazionale, in the summer. Now Keane has admitted that he would not rule out signing any player - even Vieira. During his playing days, Keane had plenty of on-field battles with former Arsenal star Vieira - and infamously in 2005 they even clashed in the tunnel before kick-off.

"If I believe this player can give us something, I'm sure the board would back us. We're always making enquiries about lots of players," he said. "How great is he? I don't know. I don't go down that road. I just know he was a bloody good player. He had good leadership skills, too. But not as good as mine!"
