Tommasi signs for QPR

Queens Park Rangers have signed former Roma midfielder Damiano Tommasi on a one-year deal. Tommasi spent a decade at Roma between 1996 and 2006 and played in all four of Italy's games at the 2002 World Cup.

The 34-year-old became a cult figure amongst the Giallorossi faithful after he suffered a serious knee injury during a pre-season friendly against Stoke City in 2004 and accepted a minimum wage salary while he recovered. The popular midfielder received a standing ovation when he returned to action as a substitute against Ascoli in October 2005.

After agreeing a deal with Spanish side Levante in the summer of 2006, Tommasi settled in La Liga but his deal expired at the end of last season. Now Tommasi has opened what is likely to be the final chapter in his playing career by signing for Championship side QPR in a single-year deal.

Watched Vucinic against Ireland and he had a indifferent game. He obviously didn't want to upset me by banging in a hat-trick, but that aside, he looked lively enough in the opening half and made a few good moves and link up play, without ever really threatening. In the second-half he began to get lazy and looked disinterested at times, and resorted to diving a good few of the times John O'Shea (who he had in his pocket) or Richard Dunne (who he found much tougher) challenged him. Honestly, I have never seen him dive as much. I got the impression from him that he wasn't putting as much effort into the game as he would were it in the Olimpico and in the red and yellow. With Montenegro its like he's the main man, the captain, the best player in the country, the man with the fastest car, and so his commitment and determination to spur his team on should be high on fire, you would think, but it was not quite so evident. Of course, it doesn't help when you have the likes of Woodafekistatabitch and Watsmynameyabitch providing the balls into him instead of Totti or De Rossi or Aquilani, and so you can't expect perfection in every game (not that I wanted it from him in thisparticular game, you understand), but I was expecting to see a bit more leadership and drive from him. I suppose he still only young there is a lot of pressure on him to deliver for Montenegro, but he is still improving and developing all aspects of his game, such as leadership, slowly but surely. This season is going to be a huge one for him in his career.

Also a solid draw by the Irish. We could of won it but then again, we could of lost it (clever huh). Four points from our first two games away from home is not too shabby at all, and Trap is really setting his mark on this team and we're looking confident and believing in ourselves. If we played Italy tomorrow we would beat them (or at least draw).

And wonderful to see De Rossi bang in that screamer last night. Man I've missed them.

Roma sweat after Totti relapse

Roma's injury problems take a turn for the worse as Francesco Totti and Alexander Doni are almost certainly out for Saturday's trip to Palermo. The Giallorossi have been without inspirational captain Totti since his serious knee injury against Livorno towards the end of last season.

However, the Lupi medical team had been talking about Totti recovering in record time ready to play against Palermo this weekend. But that now looks unlikely after Er Pupone reported further knee pain in training this morning. While the medical team insist that there is no need for panic, there are fears that Totti may even miss out on next week's Champions League opener against Romanian champions CFR Cluj.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Doni has also been trying to shake off a tendon problem but he was forced to withdraw from training early after suffering severe pain. Simone Perrotta and Juan are also absent for Roma's Sicilian test, but Brazilian wide man Rodrigo Taddei should return.

Technically no, there wasn't a peno for us, but there should of been. Hunt whipped in a cross in the first-half which the defender tried to sort of control with his chest but he ended up falling onto the ground and clearly touched the ball with his arm, pushing it away. It should of been awarded but perhaps they got the home-team decision from the ref.

Tell me this Gianni Tonelli is not completely fucked in the head. Either that or he is congenitally stupid.
Siamo rispettosi del lutto del calciatore De Rossi e della sua famiglia - ha detto Tonelli -, però in corso c'è un'indagine.

Is this guy kidding me? So there is an investigation in progress. So what. How does De Rossi dedicating his goals to his wife's father affect the investigation. Sometimes my fellow Italians provide nothing but embarrassment for me.
