Azzurri right-back Massimo Oddo has vowed to return to Milan as a better player once his loan spell at Bayern Munich ends.

Oddo was a product of the Rossoneri youth system but he was sent on loan six times between 1995 and 2000 before joining Verona and then Lazio.

Having returned to San Siro in 2007, the 32-year-old became a regular in the Milan defence but spent much of last season sidelined with a knee injury, causing the Diavolo to strengthen their back line this summer.

The Azzurri stopper will now spend the coming campaign in the Bundesliga with Bayern but hopes to command a starting shirt at Milan in the future.

“I am temporarily leaving the club that I always dreamed of playing for since I was a child and the team that has given me the chance to win the most important trophies,â€

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani complimented Boca Juniors after they joined Milan as the most title-winning club in the world.

Both clubs have lifted 18 international Cups.

How will that make Adriano Galliani feel, after the Milan vice-president repeatedly reminded journalists and rivals who criticised his team that they were, after all, the club with the most titles in the world?

It's probable he didn't take it well, but he obviously hided it when he talked about the issue, and complimented the Argentinean side for having reached the top of this prestigious list.

"On behalf of the club I want to congratulate Boca Juniors," said Galliani, "for winning their 18th international trophy, becoming the most title-winning club in the world along with Milan."

Boca Juniors and Milan met in the most recent Club World Cup final in Yokohama, in which the Rossoneri proved stronger and won 4-2. They had also met four years earlier, and on that occasion Boca lifted the trophy after a penalty shoot-out victory following a 1-1 draw.

The management definitely revolutionized this team over the summer. Dinho, Zambro, Flamini and Abbiati are first team additions, the rest (Boriello, Cardacio, Antonini and, regrettably, the traitor) are depth additions. Senderos can be in either categories depending on how well he adapts. Viudez should be loaned out IMO. So, on paper, this our deepest team since the 05/06 season. But there's so many wild cards in those new additions it is hard to see how it will pan out, it could be a resounding success and spark a new cycle like the 02/03 season, or have the same fate as the chaotic Inter teams of the 90s and early 2000s. I just dont a way in the middle for this new team after this summer, either a big success or an equally big failure.

us having 7 players for 3 spots might not be as horrible as it sounds...if things go like the past couple season we should have one to two players at least from that group constantly inured through out the season, whether its one or two out for months and months at a time or whether its a rotation of injuries. but then again you never know
