UFFICIALE: il baby Santonocito dall'Inter al Celtic

Il Celtic ha comunicato di aver ingaggiato, proveniente dall'Inter, il giovanissimo difensore Luca Santonocito (16), stella degli Allievi nazionali del club nerazzurro. Caloroso il benvenuto che arriva dal manager della squadra di Glasgow, Gordon Strachan: "Siamo felici di dare il benevenuto a Luca qui a Celtic park. Guardiamo avanti".

briz, haven't I explained my points in the previous posts? Let me summarize, then.

First, I quite understand that Moratti is fully prepared to continue running his club at a huge loss if it'll bring success on the pitch. I don't care what he does with his money and his club on these terms - though I can't help but reflect how similar he is to Abrahmovic and how much more stick Chelski get simply because they were so immediately successful. And I quite understand that in such terms it's not worth selling Maicon for a massively inflated sum this close to the start of the season. Fine, no problems there.

However, it is quite clearly a massively inflated sum for a tidy but over-rated fullback. So, secondly, one of my points is that any club run with even a quarter of an eye on business sense would have been inclined to accept the offer. And the second point is that you guys massively over-rate Maicon who is a very competent player but hardly a properly exceptional one and I am sure that if you had accepted the offer you'd have been able to find half a dozen players who would have been able to do his job quite as well as he does.

So, should Moratti have accepted the offer? I don't really care and I can quite understand why he didn't. That he didn't, though, is both unsurprising and pretty revealing.

As for the Aquilani question, Lomba, it's again a silly comparison because there are quite different issues implicated in that situation. The parallel would be with someone like Taddei or Mancini - important first-team players but non-Romanisti. If someone were to offer 45 mil for either of them then I'd be inclined to accept the offer since they're both excellent players but not irreplaceable. I wouldn't accept an inflated offer for Mexes - as I wouldn't for Ibra or Stinkybitch or CantbearsedO, say - but I would for Maicon or Mancini.

Zanetti, Crespo e Burdisso convocati per l'amichevole della nazionale albiceleste contro l'Australia.

Dopo l'avventura in Coppa America, per tre argentini dell'Inter l'avventura in nazionale continua. Per l'amichevole contro l'Australia, infatti, il ct sudamericano Alfio Basile ha convocato Zanetti, Crespo e Burdisso (a casa invece Cambiasso, Samuel e Cruz).

Fra i 21 giocatori convocati c'è anche il nuovo acquisto del Real Madrid, Gabriel Heinze. Inter, lo stesso Real e Getafe, con tre giocatori a testa, saranno le squadre meglio rappresentate nella selezione argentina.
