In the mid 90's, we were Cricket World Champions, Hockey world champions, Squash was in the bag for the last couple of decades and we were amateur snooker champs as well. $ world titles simultaneously at that point... and always protagnists in the Olympics games in sports such as field hockey and boxing. Look at us now.. bleeding pathetic.. our cricket has snowballed out of control faster than the political climate in the past 2 years, and we lose to fucking engerland for the first time in 30 years(was it?) in hockey at the olympics... yeas... tis a tuff time to be a proud pakistani...

I'd have been a lot happier if we could have got, as maro and T10 both say, Menez and Suazo, after the Castillo deal fell through.

It's an on going argument, isn't it, continuing with the 4-2-3-1 formation when we know damn well the "1" available to us up front either isn't a recognised centroavanti, or that our alternatives don't qualify for the title of hot shot goal machine!

Yes, we have Montella and what can we constructively say of him now? Yes we have Vuci but as he has proven, though he isn't a true winger he is better suited to a wider left attacking role.

Maybe there is still another surprise in the pipeline, at least in terms of a loan deal as the rumours of Brighi and Esposito being shunted out the door persist! Presumably if even one of them goes he will be replaced...

What are our management aiming for this season in realistic terms I wonder. To compete successfully on a 3 tier level we need more than we have. Yes, we can certainly go part of the way and we ought to manage to remain inside the top 4...regardless of the voices of others on our good forum, I say we can hold off any challenge from Napoli and Fiorentina! I guess we will have to content ourselves with this for the moment until our cash flow problem is resolved!

Roma is definitely my pick for a top 4 position. I expect you guys to be fighting for the Scudetto till the end. Milan's going to fuck up yet again, imo.

Menez news is exciting, we should fight for the Scudetto and the CL with this team. God Damnit I am so excited for Calcio 08-09. FORZA ROMA

Shield about the PL, its looking pretty good so far with JI and Aba, but if they ever go away on vacation or something and need someone to help out doing the scores etc. I am happy to do it.
