Goal.com is just quoting Gazzetta dello sport. But he's still on the list of players we have for CL. The reason he isn't playing is because he'd waste a spot on the bench if he were to go, because if he steps out onto the field any team in Cl interested in him would withdraw their bid.

This is my point too.

From the likes of it, Tiago doesn't feature in Ranieri's future plans, thereby the management doesn't want him to be cup-tied in order to sell him. Even if they fail to offload him, he'll be the last in the pecking order until he leaves Turin, I expect.

The possibilities...

1. Perhaps Tiago still has a small hope he'll someday adapt to the Italian game

2. Maybe he doesn't want to take a significant pay cut, according to the aforementioned report.

3. Or he believes that joining Everton is a backward step.
