Had Ranieri taken charge of Juventus instead of Lippi during the 90's, Ranieri would have achieved as many trophies as Lippi did, and might be more. <<< If you, Dino, think that the previous sentence, which is built on conjectures, is right, then I have nothing to add. Time will tell us more, that's for sure.

So intead of rewarding the guy for getting third place, even with all the ref errors, were going to replace him? With who? You name me a coach that was/is available this summer? Answer me this: Who had Prandelli and Spaletti coached before they got hired by their current team? What was their background/ achievement? Now they're two of the most respected coaches in Italy. Stop questioning his past, and look at what he's done with this team when it has counted. The only criticism you can dish his way, is the teams consistency. We gave up way too many points against smaller teams that we should have easily beaten. This team is fine, the coach is doing a good job. The only thing you can complain about, is the market, but even then the transfer window isn't closed.

I was just scrolling up through the posts from this weekend and I am really confused... so do you guys actually think Ranieri is a good enough coach for Juventus? Do you actually think we can win something under his guidance? And if your answer is yes, is this positive thinking, ignorance or the after-effects of severe brain trauma?

Zabaleta To Juve In 2009?

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are planning to bring young Argentine midfielder Pablo Zabaleta to the club next summer.

Zabaleta is one of the most impressive young midfielders in La Liga for Espanyol, and he has attracted the interest of a host of Serie A clubs including Genoa, Palermo, Fiorentina and Napoli.

Part of the attraction in the 23-year-old is the fact that he has a buyout clause of just €8m, and for this reason also, Juventus are considering purchasing the player for the beginning of the 2009/10 season.

Zabaleta, who can also fill in at right back, is well suited to Juve coach Claudio Ranieri’s 4-4-2 formation, and he also comes with the added bonus of possessing a Spanish passport.

The former San Lorenzo man has won five caps for the Argentina national team, and he is currently on show at the summer Olympics in Beijing, where he has helped the Albicelestes reach the semi finals where they will play bitter rivals Brazil.

Juventus have sent scouts to watch Zabaleta in Beijing, and there are further reports that an offer could be launched sooner rather than later.

The Bianconeri have a number of injury problems in the centre of midfield currently, with Claudio Marchisio and Cristiano Zanetti both sidelined.

Juve Re-Enter Ivanovic Race?

According to Datasport, Juventus are considering re-entering the race to sign Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, following the injury to Giorgio Chiellini.

Chiellini suffered what looked like a serious knee injury against Milan in the Trofeo Berlusconi last night, and the latest reports suggest that he will be out of action for at least 40 days.

“Chiellini could just have a sprain on his left knee and we will do the necessary tests on Monday afternoon,â€

Diego is more of a balanced midfielder, he doesn't have to play as a trequartista, from what I've see in the Olympics.
