Legend Baggio Set To Return To Football

Footballing legend Roberto Baggio is set for a return to football in a managerial role at Brescia, the club’s President Luigi Corioni has revealed.

Baggio is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the game, and he finally hung up his boots in 2004, following a glittering 22-year career where he starred for the likes of Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter, Milan and Bologna.

His final club were Brescia between 2000 and 2004, where he helped guide the team to their best ever run in Serie A, including an eighth place finish.

However, the year after Baggio retired, Brescia immediately were relegated to Serie B, and they have failed to return to the top-flight since.

Former Azzurri legend Roberto Baggio could return to football in a managerial capacity with Serie B side Brescia.

Baggio enjoyed a magnificent 22-year career during which he represented Juventus, Inter and Milan.

But he concluded his playing days at Brescia between 2000 and 2004 and guided the Rondinelle to an eighth-placed Serie A finish in 2000-01.

The 41-year-old has stayed away from the spotlight since retiring, but he could be ready to return to the world of calcio.

MT, I hope he makes it as a coach and I hope it's in Italy.

We all know about Baggio's love for life in Argentina and I hope he doesn't decide to go there to coach Santa Fe or some other small club unless it's just as a brief stepping stone to the real deal in Serie A!

Roby is one shrewd cookie and he might not like to start his management career off with being handed the responsibility of bringing Brescia up to A from B!

Inler Rejects Arsenal Move

Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler has rejected the chance to sign for Premiershit giants Arsenal, the player’s agent has confirmed. Inler has been linked with Arsenal almost all summer as, following the departure of Gilberto Silva, Aliaksandr Hleb and Mathieu Flamini, the Gunners’ priority in the summer transfer market has been to sign a centre midfielder.

So far manager Arsene Wenger has not brought in any replacements, and their dismal 1-0 defeat to Fulham on Saturday suggested that the Gunners are not strong enough in the middle-of-the-park. Any hope of signing Inler now appears to have been lost as the player’s agent Dino Lambrini has confirmed that his client has rejected a move to the Emirates.
