Frenchesco, at this point I'd have to say there's some chance the Baptista deal will fall through. I think all along it's been taken for granted that the easiest part of the process would be his agreeing personal terms with the club. It seems, though, if the whispers are to be believed, that he's on 3 mil at Real and is insisting that that contract is matched. In which case, in the politest possible way, he should be told to fuck right off on the big white horse he rode in on. If he wants to collect big cash for sitting on the bench - or, more likely, in the stands - then he can stay where he is. Given that all of us, I think, agree that while he will be a useful addition, he's going to have a fight on his hands to secure a place in the starting 11, the idea that the salary cap should be breached for him and not, for instance, for Mexes is laughable. If he doesn't want to wear giallorosso, then fine; if he does, he should sign the fekkin' contract and thank the heavens for the opportunity.

Or else he could go to Gnu Castil and have a shot at the Carling Cup quarters while spending his extra pennies on pork scratchings and Newcastle Brown Ale.

Yeah Maro, that s exactly right. There's no way the guy can earn more than Mexes and some others. Who the fuck does he think he is!!!! It has been 2 years since he has done a complete full good season and he's asking for playing time as well as big Cash. The guy wants everything, then he better stays on Real Madrid bench.
I'm always impressed with u Maro who always seem to remain so calm despite all those things that Roma make us endure . That is what it cost to be a Roma fan but I think at this stage, I do not have anymore patience. We've been waiting for 2 months for reinforcements and nothing has been done yet for this purpose. It is becoming very stressful. I still have hopes, there are still 2 weeks to go but I'm really afraid we are going to start the season and we will all be disappointed....as often.
Are they really going to get a striker??? Do the management realize that we can not count on ElCapitano as much as before and that he is returning from a serious injury. Do they know he may not find his best form again???
Tomorrow, it s the thirteen of August....I never imagined we would have to wait until so late into this transfer season to finally grab a new player.

Actually, Frenchesco, I think it's pretty cunning strategy. Keep us hanging on and hanging on, so desperate for a couple of signings that when they finally bring in Phil Neville and Corradi on August 30 we'll be too relieved to be disgusted.

Is Whooolio demanding €3M-a-year? Feck him is right. He may say "why should I take a pay-cut" buts it not like the man is a proven champion who can guarantee us 20 goals-a-season and propel us to CL glory, and few clubs have the wage bill of Madrid. The maximum allowed under the 'cap' plus the various bonuses should be enough to make him sign on, if not he can feck the feck off to feck. If we were to not sign him as a result of not being able to agree personal terms with him you'd imagine there be even more cries of uproar from the tifosi, but I don't believe he is worth going over the 'cap' for as he would not be an indispensable part of the side like DDR or God. Even though he said he wants to stay at Chel$ki, does anyone know how much Malouda was on? It could well be a similar situation with him if we did agree a fee with Chel$ki. Perhaps thats why we're supposedly considering Quags.

Guys I may be wrong but I do not see us signing such a big name like Huntelaar or Podolski or other... I am afraid it is too late now. If really the Baptista deal falls through, I do not think Prade and Co. will get back up from this after the Mutu saga. Either their strategy is really good, either they r just a bunch of amateur....wonder which one i would bet...
Yes Montella has nothing to give to the team anymore.
I do not think we should keep Virga and Alvarez too.
