Carlo, just back on the conflicting time-frames for Totti's return. The "not-back-'til-October" story came from Totti himself. One of the Roma sites - romanews.eu, I think - entitled it "Totti scherzando" or "Totti scherza" or somesuch. And then when this quote was put to one of the medical team he replied that Totti had said it for "scaramanzia." If he's not back to play some part in the Supercoppa, he'll be back very shortly thereafter and in time to play a part in the opening weeks of the season (unless, of course, there's another set-back around the corner). Anyway, the talk of October all arose from Totti's response to the latest question as to whether or not he'd be back for the Supercoppa and he was just messing around.

Francesco Totti was in a positive frame of mind as Roma prepare to take on Al-Ahly in Egypt but he won’t rush his recovery. Despite featuring in the Giallorossi’s squad in Cairo, Totti won’t take to the field because he is still recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained in April.

Hopefully we can sign at least one player by the end of the week. I just don't know where Baptista will line up on the pitch. I guess he will be a depth player in case Totti, Perrotta or DDR get injured. I think can play forward in Roma's formation. He will add some power to the side which will be a good thing.

Everyone on the Roma blog are in love with Jeremy Menez. It is funny how a youtube video can influence people. I haven't seen him play so I can't comment on him. It is a good video but you can make a great video for Amantino and even Taddei. 12 million for Menez seems high.

The Royston Drenthe rumors are very interesting. He is a player I think would be unbelievable for Roma. Roma can probably get him on loan with an option to buy.

12mil for Menez is high, but he is a bright, young talent. He is no less of a risk than Pavlychenko though.
