One plus...the Benayoun to Roma affair won't be happening. My objection to him has always been that as a player he simply does not have what it takes and the fact that clubs like West Ham and Man City want him clearly shows his standard, an opinion not shared it would seem by himself!

I have a favour to ask...as the threads devoted to politics and Benayoun have now no relation to Roma, may we please have them moved to the Off-Topic section? Clearly they are points of interest, discussion, and indeed argument and as such deserve to be kept open but they belong amongst the Roma threads as much as a debate involving our forum's Italian speakers over the merits of the Roman Empire's conquest and occupation/domination of the entire Mediterranean would belong for example amongst the Juventus section's posts...

Francesco Totti has made the journey to Cairo with Roma’s squad to face Al-Ahly in tomorrow’s friendly.

The Lupi have had a mixed pre-season so far with a defeat against Steaua Bucharest and a draw in Monaco.

The next test for last season’s second-placed side is a trip to Egypt to play the country’s champions Al-Ahly.

Inspirational captain Totti has been named in the squad after making a positive recovery from a serious knee injury he sustained against Livorno in April.

Er Pupone is still highly unlikely to feature in Egypt as he has only just started to kick a ball again but the Giallorossi ace’s inclusion is a positive sign in his bid to recover in time for the Italian Super Cup on August 24.

Meanwhile, Coach Luciano Spalletti has admitted that the Eternal City outfit are keen to sign Florent Malouda and Julio Baptista.

the "no comment" (which were actually followed by many comments) by the agent is about the only breath of fresh air. good to see them changing it up a bit. i was getting tired of the same process - play x rumour, agent welcoming alleged interest, societa's denial, spalletti declaring that he's a good player, agent denying any contact, player y rumour.
