APPIANO GENTILE - He said it during the post-match interviews at the Giuseppe Meazza last Sunday. And he said it again between today's two sessions at Inter's training ground. Dejan Stankovic is disappointed about the Super Cup defeat to Roma, but, as he told Sky Italia, the Serbian midfielder is convinced the 1-0 loss can be therapeutic for the Nerazzurri's season.

Is the true Inter the one we saw in Manchester or the one we saw last Sunday?
"In sincerity it's somewhere in between. In Manchester it was a friendly during the pre-season preparation, in Rome it should have been a real match. There was a trophy up for grabs, but it's useless to start crying about it. It was a good lesson for us. We have to eliminate the mistakes from Sunday's match and continue our work like we know how. It certainly wasn't the true Inter against Roma, not even thirty percent of its potential. We were lacking everything: play, mentality, concentration. However, if we were to fail it was better to now so we all stay with our feet on the ground. Now we will toe the line and... pedal."

What do you need to do get back that 'eye of the tiger' that the Scudetto-winning Inter side had?
"Everything that was missing against Roma. We have to work hard to bring out all the quality this team has. The team's character showed through gradually last year when we found the right automatisms, the right concentration and the right spirit. I hope we recapture all this as soon as possible."

But are Inter behind on a physical level, as some have pointed out?
"No, because the same thing happened last year. We had a few problems at the start but by the end of September the team was going really strong. We will now try to eliminate this below-par start. We have to start the championship with three points to forget the match against Roma."

There has been talk of pomposity. But does the fact that everyone is saying Inter are favourites represent an extra responsibility for you?
"It's certainly an extra responsibility but they said we were starting as winners last year too, and they were right. But this season won't be like the last one. Milan are in great form, Juve are back, Roma are a great team, and it will be very hard to win in Palermo and Florence. If Inter want to win, and Inter do want to win, we have to be the strongest from start to finish. The ninety-seven points (of last season) should be an example."

Have you really never seen Roberto Mancini as angry as he was after Sunday evening's match?
"No, this isn't true. I have seen him a lot angrier than on Sunday. I have seen him like that many times."

You face Udinese at the Meazza in your opening match of the new Serie A season. They are coached by Marino who with Catania caused problems for you last season.
"I remember. We managed to win last year but they played well. I remember a well organised team. It will be the first of the championship and we will try to 'eliminate' the match against Roma, so there will surely be a reaction. We respect all our opponents because the championship in Italy might not be the most spectacular but it is the most difficult, and because it's difficult to score when you face teams who compact."

LA SQUADRA

Rinforzare l’Inter dei record non era facile, ma la dirigenza c’è riuscita con abilità ed anche mestiere. All’attacco di Mancini serviva un contropiedista per chiudere le partite, ed ecco Suazo. E' arrivato Chivu, nonostante un tira e molla estenuate: velocità e classe al servizio della difesa. Nonostante la partenza di Grosso, la rosa nerazzurra resta di un livello eccezionale e probabilmente inarrivabile. Jimenez potrà crescere all’ombra di Figo e Stankovic, oltre che rappresentare una valida alternativa ai due quando ci sarà da inventare la giocata che spezzi l’equilibrio. Con questi uomini Mancini ha il dovere di puntare a vincere tutto. Da gestire solo l’abbondanza, ma nonostante i proclami della vigilia, difficile che il tecnico jesino si affidi alle tre punte se non in rare e forzate occasioni.

La netta sconfitta in Supercoppa non altera più di tanto gli equlibri: l'Inter punta ad arrivare sul tetto d’Italia e d’Europa.

Con Emerson che ha firmato per il Milan, Cicinho a due passi dalla presentazione con la Roma, c'è un'altra big del nostro calcio che potrebbe avere la necessità di inserire un madrelingua portoghese nella sua rosa.

Si tratta dell'Inter che, secondo l'edizione odierna del Corriere dello Sport, starebbe preparando un vero e proprio assalto al Barcellona per prelevare il cartellino del centrocampista offensivo Deco.

Sembra che già nelle prossime ore si registreranno veri e propri movimenti in tal senso. Eppure il "Mancio" aveva lamentato carenze a destra...

Real Madrid approach Inter Milan for Stankovic

C'è la festa in piazza e la gente si scalda, c'è il presidente Tommaso Ghirardi che si dice soddisfatto del nuovo Parma e i tifosi applaudono, ci sono i giocatori che sorridono e promettono. E c'è soprattutto un interrogativo al quale, nelle ultime ore, viene associato un nome. Un grande nome. La domanda è: chi sarà il prossimo acquisto del Parma? La risposta potrebbe chiamarsi Adriano Leite Ribeiro.

L'Inter non è più gradita a Brunico ???WTF??

Sued Tiroler Freiheit, il partito della Liberta sudtirolese, chiede che l'Inter non venga piu' in ritiro estivo a Brunico. Al suo posto, il partito che fa capo ad Eva Klotz, la pasionaria che vuole il ritorno dell'Alto Adige all'Austria, preferisce squadre tedesche e austriache. La questione non e' nuova, ed ora il partito ha presentato una mozione in Comune per dire basta al ritiro interista in Val Pusteria, che ormai e' diventata una tradizione.
