Aba, keep your ticket and count it a lesson learned. Go to Sicily, check it out and let some of us who have never been there (me) know what it's like. Spend the rest of your time in Italy/Rome exploring some new things while making sure to check out 1 or 2 old favorites. You got yourself some lemons, make some lemonade. Yes Yes I sound like some old fart, but its true in this case. There is simply far too much to see and do in Italy and this is a great chance. There will be no shortage of great ideas on this board, so feel free to ask.

Guys I don't know what more Roma could have done with the Mutu transfer. Yes all the eggs were put in one basket and the lack of contingencies is an utter joke, but with the transaction itself... Maybe I'm missing something here?

Jamoldo, I agree there was very little wrong with the transaction itself but the lack of contingencies and timing was awful. They could have made the Mutu offer at the beginning of the mercato. It would have allowed us more time in case of rejection but it also would have allowed Fiorentina more time to find his replacement.

The question is why did we wait so long? First, we were counting on the Mancini funds. Second, we were waiting for the Unicredit loan extension. These things could have been taken care of a long time ago.

Where does this leave us? We have 20 million to spend on two players and they may not be fully incorporated into the side until the end of September or early October depending on when the transactions are made. Obviously, at this point Roma and all other teams who have yet to make significant purchases stink of desperation and 10 million dollar players are suddenly worth 13-14 million. I really don't think we will get any players of great value. We will overspend like a second tier English club but they will probably outbid us.

I have to confess I would take a particular satisfaction were Mutu to suffer a bad injury at the beginning of the season and miss most of it. Say a broken leg, or something. That and Fiorentina getting knocked out of the CL in the qualifying stages with Prandelli exiting with a schlong broken off in his ear. The more I see of Prandelli, the less I like him. I think he owes the club a bit more respect than he has shown.

We can't make one transfer and Tottenham is looking to sign another five players. It is only a rumor but more believable than Roma signing Podolski. Even Fulham are gong to spend 16.5 million on Andy Johnson. Roma are playing in the CL and hosting the final but we did sign Riise and Loria. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!!!!!!
