Muntari is a good player, he's dynamic and strong. Besides, he has a valuable experience in the Calcio, thanks to the five years he spent at Stadio Friuli. The accurate question here should be, is Sully Muntari the right addition to Inter's current squad?

Muntari is a versatile destroyer who can preform well on flanks, mainly defensively. However, I doubt he'll add a lot to the team, unless he replaces a regular starter. Cambiasso has re-established his career at Giuseppe Meazza and Javier Zanetti is simply irreplaceable, whereas Vieira is always injured and he's already past his best, moreover he has to cover a wide area on the pitch to compensate for the absence of a fourth midfielder in 4-3-3 which Mourinho is going to adopt. Also Mourinho clearly doesn't prefer Stankovic, despite his fighting spirit.

I won't be surprised if Mourinho opts to place the following midfield line:

Zanetti-------Cambiasso------Muntari

Muntari is valuable for the CL youth list. He is eligable as a home grown product.

If Muntari signs for Internazionale... he will be in the starting 11. Muntari is the type of CM that Mourinho likes and I have no doubt that he is selecting him with the full intention of placing him in the starting CM.

I assume that is what Mourinho thinks as well.

I'm not convinced that Muntari adds a whole lot to Inter's starting XI, but he is a good CM and is more forward thinking than someof your other central midfield players.

Viola Closing In On Burdisso
Fiorentina are edging closer to the signing of Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso, according to La Nazione.

BurdissoÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s future at the Stadio Meazza is clouded in doubt at the moment as he faces intense competition from a whole host of other defenders, including the likes of Ivan Cordoba, Walter Samuel, Marco Materazzi, and Christian Chivu.

Last week, new Inter boss Jose Mourinho stated that six central defenders was too many for one club to have, and hinted that one or two may have to be offloaded.

Burdisso is certainly a serious contended to be on his way out of San Siro, and he has been consistently linked with Fiorentina over the past few weeks.

Despite scoring InterÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s first goal of pre-season yesterday during the 1-0 win over Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, La Nazione claims that Burdisso is edging ever closer to Fiorentina.

Indeed, Inter have agreed to cut their asking price for the Argentine, providing the Viola donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t sell star man Adrian Mutu to Scudetto rivals Roma.

Fiorentina are in need of a new centre back, especially as Dario Dainelli could be set for a transfer to Genoa
