I can't get any solid information right now other than we are scrambling to sastify both Totti and Spalletti and bring in some impact players. I am very concerned right now.

Of course, the late news coming out of Rome tonight is that the Mutu deal is not totally closed. Mutu is demanding a higher salary in the area in which Roma offered him. It appears like Mutu is making enough trouble for Dalla Valle that the assumption is there remains a possibility that he could in fact come to Roma. Tommorrow is another day. It's not easy being a Roma fan.

I banditi l'hanno sorpreso mentre rientrava a casa: armi in pugno gli hanno sottratto il Suv, con a bordo la bimba di due anni. Poi, forse accortisi della presenza della bambina, hanno abbandonato la vettura poco distante

ROMA, 25 luglio 2008 - Disavventura a lieto fine per Philippe Mexes, difensore francese in forza alla Roma dal 2004. Erano le 23.50 e il giocatore, insieme alla compagna Carla, stava rientrando a casa, all'Axa-Casal Palocco, un quartiere residenziale fra Roma e Ostia, con ville lussuose dove abitano molti calciatori, fra i quali anche Totti, dopo aver trascorso la serata in un ristorante romano. E proprio davanti a casa il giocatore è stato affrontato da due banditi armati, che gli hanno sottratto l'auto, sulla quale era ancora seduta la figlioletta Eva di due anni. Invece il primogenito Enzo, 4 anni, anche lui sulla vettura fino a pochi istanti prima, era già stato prelevato e accompagnato in casa dai genitori.
I rapinatori hanno puntato l'arma contro il calciatore, che ha reagito ingaggiando con loro una colluttazione. Sono stati attimi terribili: i banditi hanno avuto la meglio e sono fuggiti con la vettura, un suv Mercedes, portandosi via la piccola seduta sul seggiolino posteriore. Impotenti anche altre persone che hanno assistito alla scena. L'allarme è scattato immediatamente: numerose pattuglie di polizia e carabinieri hanno dato la caccia alla Mercedes su viale Cristoforo Colombo. Un quarto d'ora più tardi, forse accortisi della presenza della bambina, i banditi hanno abbandonato l'auto in piazza Eschilo. La portiera lasciata aperta ha insospettito una passante, che ha subito chiamato la polizia.
Poco dopo il calciatore giallorosso e la sua compagna hanno potuto riabbracciare la figlioletta, in buone condizioni: all'arrivo degli agenti la bimba dormiva tranquilla. Forse non si è accorta di nulla. Intanto proseguono le ricerche dei due rapitori: sembra che siano stranieri.

Translation, Bomba...? Jesus poor Mexes. I hope his daughter is alright, and indeed, the entire Mexes family. The last line is interesting: "the search continues, it seems they were foreigners", so its likely that some Interisiti were involved, be they players or supporters. Scumbags.

Maro, I was just reading that over on RomaNews about Giuseppe Rossi. If we do make a move for him there's bound to be a few around here who would go absolutely ape-shit, plus it would satisfy Italiamia's stranieri concerns. He would be a very interesting addition indeed.

Yes, I have to confess I get mildly tumescent at the thought of Giuseppe Rossi in giallorosso. He may be a much less shrewd addition than Mutu, say, but he'd also be a bloody exciting one.
