Thats funny, considering Mancini started out as a full-back, or a 'side-back', as you like to say. He is full of energy and quite good on the defensive side when he wants to be, its only when he can't be bothered do all aspects of his game drop, not just his defensive abilities.

You see, Tony, its not pointless. Actually its quite the opposite. There is nothing wrong with trying to encourage a bit of constructive conversation, which is all Maro is trying to do. Dropping in and telling us Maxi Rodriguez would be a 'complete' signing for us because he is better at defending then Mancini was is not really telling us much, now is it? Instead, if you must, try telling us a bit more about him and why he would be such a great signing. Its not that much to ask.

Well, I suppose my point is slightly different - it's rather that you seem to have a quite exceptionally low regard for the intelligence and football knowledge of some of the other posters here. Saying something like "I think Maxi Rodgriguez would be a really good signing because he's technically a bit better than Taddei, but also has a really good work-rate and so would help with the overall balance of the side. He'd bring a bit more balance to the trequartista position than Mancini did or Malouda would because they don't help out defensively as much." That would make for a kind of thoughtful and nuanced post. It'd show that you were assuming a bit of intelligence on the part of the others here. Telling us you like MR isn't really all that interesting, unless you think that we value your opinions in and of themselves rather than your more carefully detailed reasonings. On the other hand, telling us baldly that Mancini never defends, given that most of us here probably watched close to 90% of Roma's games last season and the season before and etc. etc. is likely to come across as kind of inane.

But I gave you a much better analysis that just saying someone will bring balance. Balance. You act like you know something about the game. My mentioning that Mancini doesn't defend was to emphasise the importance that Maxi could have on the team if you added that element. Get over yourself Maro.
