Juve And Udinese To Swap Goalkeepers

According to reports coming from Italy, Juventus and Udinese are set to swap their second goalkeepers, Emanuele Belardi and Antonio Chimenti, in the coming days.

The Bianconeri seem to be intent on continuing with some minor activities during this transfer window as within the next few days, the deal which could send Belardi to the Friulani and Chimenti arriving to the Piemonte could be finalized.

Both goalkeepers would change team but not their position as they would be considered as back-ups for the first teamers, Gigi Buffon and Samir Handanovic.

In Chimenti's case he could actually end up as third goalkeeper since the Old Lady is also after Alexander Manninger of Siena, but no deal has been reached as of yet.

For the current Udinese goalkeeper, this would be a return to Turin after he spent four seasons with Juventus between 2002 and 2005, collecting 11 appearances.

Tiago Wants Atletico Madrid Move

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus would like to sell midfield flop Tiago Mendes to Monaco, however the player is holding out for a move to Atletico Madrid.

Tiago only signed for Juve last summer for €13m, however he has been a huge disappointment in Turin, making just 10 Serie A starts, and scoring no goals.

The Bianconeri tried to sell the 27-year-old during the January transfer window, and even set-up a deal with Tottenham Hotspur, however the player rejected the move at the last minute.

The Portuguese midfielder was holding out for a move to Atletico Madrid, but they were not willing to meet Juve’s asking price and so Tiago struggled on at the Stadio Olimpico until then end of the season.

The former Chelsea man has been with the Old Lady in their summer training camp at Pinzolo and even played in the friendly against Piacenza earlier this week.

However, it is no secret that Juve are desperate to offload Tiago, and they are said to be in negotiations with Monaco, the French club said to be willing to pay around €7.5m.

Tiago though has no intention of signing for the Monte Carlo-based outfit, and is still holding out for a dream move to Atletico Madrid, hoping that eventually Juve will lower their asking price to satisfy the Spaniards.

My point with the roster thing was to show how many average players we have that are old. But, I guess no one in here was smart enough to understand this. I guess everyone is happy with this team and we are going to win so much with it. Whatever Juventus does is great... I got it now.

Secco Banned From Transfers!

It is the news that will surely delight Juventini, but disappoint all the fans of other clubs – Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco has been banned by the Calcio Federation from making any transfers for a month.



The much-maligned Secco is not the most popular figure among Juve supporters following a long line of blunders in the transfer market since replacing Luciano Moggi two years ago.

The chief has become notorious for his expensive purchases of the likes of Jean-Alain Boumsong, Sergio Almiron and Tiago Mendes, who joined the club for a total fee of around €27m. He has also been criticized for attempting to offload Giorgio Chiellini last summer to Manchester City.

However, Secco will not be able to immerse himself in any more catastrophic transfers for a while after receiving a one month ban from the Disciplinary Commission of the Federcalcio.

The punishment was handed out for an offence Secco committed, along with former Juve Vice President Roberto Bettega, in negotiations with Genoa over young defender Domenico Criscito.

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has received a two month suspension, while Giambattista Pastorello and Alessandro Zarbano, vice-chairman and managing director respectively of the Rossoblu have been banned for 15 days. Juve have also received a €10k fine, €15k for Genoa.

It is unlikely that the news of Secco’s suspension will disappoint too many Juve fans, although it may have come about too late to make any difference this summer, as the Bianconeri have already announced that they will be buying no more outfield players before the transfer window closes.

Seedorf Set For Shock Juve Move?

According to Tuttosport, Clarence Seedorf could be set to quit Milan following the arrival of Ronaldinho, and make a sensational transfer to Juventus.

Ronaldinho finally completed his long awaited move from Barcelona to Milan on Tuesday night. One Rossoneri player who has been heavily critical of the transfer is Clarence Seedorf.

The Dutchman has repeatedly spoken out against signing in recent weeks, insisting that he isn’t prepared to play in a deeper role to accommodate Ronaldinho, nor will he hand over his No.10 shirt.

Although there were reports in the Italian media yesterday that Seedorf had now embraced the Brazilian’s arrival, Tuttosport claim that this isn’t the case, and that the former Ajax and Real Madrid star is seriously considering quitting the club.

The Italian newspaper goes even further and claims that Seedorf could be set for a sensational move to rivals Juventus. The Bianconeri have announced over the past few days that, following the signing of Sevilla’s Christian Poulsen, they will not be buying any more outfield players this summer.

However, the chance of capturing Seedorf, a creative midfielder that the Juve fans believe the team needs, could alter this plan. Juve are waiting for Seedorf to make the first step, before they then enter with a firm offer. Milan, meanwhile, may allow the 32-year-old to leave, if they believe he will cause problems in the dressing room.
