Nearly two months after his dismissal, Roberto Mancini has emotionally thanked the Inter fans for their support during his four years at the club.

Inter Sign ‘New Giovinco’
Inter Milan have completed the signing of highly rated young Foligno striker Stefano Giacomelli, a player who has been dubbed as the ‘new Sebastian Giovinco’.

The 18-year-old Giacomelli is described as one of the most explosive young talents from Serie C1, and last season he just missed on promotion into Serie B when Foligno lost in a playoff to Cittadella.

Giacomelli is part of the Italy Under-19 setup, and he has already been labelled by some as the ‘new Sebastian Giovinco’, in reference to the Juventus starlet.

Just like Giovinco, Giacomelli is not blessed with the greatest physique, and indeed he is just 1.65m tall, and weighs only 65kg.

This has not deterred Inter though, who have moved to snap up the highly rated young forward. The Nerazzurri have secured the loan services of the teenager, with the later option of full ownership.

"This transfer demonstrates once again the excellent work done in recent years by the youth sector of the Biancazzurro," read a club statement from Foligno last week, when talk of the transfer first hit the press.

The signing of the ‘new Giovinco’ for Inter follows on from the purchase of another promising youngster who also has a reference to bitter rivals Juventus; striker Jago The Waterboy, who was snapped up from Treviso.

Vieira Encourages Lampard's Inter Move
Patrick Vieira says that Frank Lampard would be welcomed at Internazionale, and insists that the Englishman would thrive in Serie A.

The 31-year-old midfielder would welcome Lampard to the San Siro and sees the move as a positive step for the midfielder. He described the move as a 'big challenge', but insisted that a player of Lampard's quality 'can play in any league in the world'.

Vieira has endured a hitherto patchy Inter career, but sees Serie A as the perfect place for Lampard to develop as a player.

Vieira told the Sunday Mirror: "It will be a big challenge for him but at the same time it will be a fantastic one. He has won everything there is to win at Chelsea. he is one of the key men in the team there.

“Would he be welcome at Inter? He is a fantastic player and you want to play with players of that class. It will be one more good player.

"I don't know what is happening with Frank but I do know that the change in lifestyle would not be a problem. Frank would adjust to that.

"On the field, there is less space than there is in England. It is more congested and that is why you don't get many 3-3 or 4-4 draws. It is not as open as it is in England. But he can adapt, don't worry.

"A good player can play in any league in the world - and he is a good player. I do not believe that will be a problem. When you are an international like him to get used to it very quickly.

The Frenchman added that the Serie A side are moving forward under Jose Mourinho, and expect to challenge for the Champions League next season.

Acquafresca's Olympic joy

Inter Fail In Quaresma Bid?
Following the Frank Lampard impasse, Inter are about to suffer another blow in the market as Porto are keen to hold on to Ricardo Quaresma.

Inter's technical director Marco Branca is not having an easy time nowadays. José Mourinho handed him a shopping list, but this still has a lot of items unchecked.

Out of all the targets the Portuguese coach had required to pursue, only Roma's Brazilian forward Amantino Mancini has landed in Milan.

I'm all up for Rosina. Great dribbler, excellent shooting, good vision of play...has everything needed to be a quality winger and not only. He is Italian & is still young.
The only negative part is that he is loud-mouthed. Not that Quaresma is an angel, but this is not the first time he comes all out against his club or colleague. Rosina has a personal website, and last season, after a poor defeat, he decided to give votes & comments to his colleagues. He made fun about many of the Torino players (one in particular, cant remember who it was, he described as being slower than an ice-age old turtle), and obviously he described his match as not particularly bad. He tends to go a little over the top IMO, but as for the rest, he would be an ideal candidate.
