Does this mean we should bench him from now onwards?! Also a player like Camoranesi should adapt to life on Juve's bench?!

I can't believe that anyone could suggest benching a midfielder who is still 31 years old, and most importantly after coming out of one of the best seasons during his career. Ironically, you as well suggest fielding two pure destroyers just because Zanetti has become 31, that's insane. And don't try to say that either Sissoko or Poulsen can play as a centre midfielder, because definitely both of them are tactically inferior to Zanetti and can't compensate for his absence, especially the latter. I don't buy such a baloney.

In case you forgot, Juve did just fine last season when Zanetti was out injured. Zanetti is not as pivotal as you make him out to be. Yes, he had a great season and I didn't advocate his benching because of his age. I just simply said a nice young, powerful mid-field of Sissoko-Veloso-Giovinco could be together for years would be great for Juve.

If I were Ranieri, I'd never drop Cristiano Zanetti in favour of any other midfielder we've in our squad or we're going to sign, until a new acquisition proves his exceptional capabilities. Zanetti is a world class passer and tactically gifted.

Conclusion: Cristiano Zanetti is one of the most underrated players in the peninsula.

Replying to your post, Zoff82, if it wasn't for Camoranesi who perfectly filled the gap left by Zanetti and The Waterboy who played an amazing season we would have suffered a lot from the absence of Zanetti, our maestro.

I know he's good but you make him out to be like The Bald Algerian. I just don't rate him highly. I think that's the issue. We don't have a maestro in the mid-field. We just got 2 "DMs". I hate that position, I swear.

Edit: I like to add one thing. I don't remember the last centre midfielder Juve have had during the last 5 years who could possibly make a decent pass, bar Cristiano Zanetti.

we need to be patient. I understand that our management wants to get our team together as quick as possible but I would rather wait a month to get a great player then buy an average player now. If Liverfekkin'wankscum sign barry, alonso will leave, it's that simple. They can't get barry and keep alonso, plus I don't think alonso would stay if barry went to pool. If we wait, alonso is ours.

I'm not buying into this latest rumor about xabi yet, I still believe he's coming.

However and this is what I fear, Benitez wants to challenge in both the EPL and Europe, thus he needs a squad depth. Maybe he'll opt to keep Alonso despite signing Barry.

And who guarantees that no big gun will hijack Alonso's deal? If Real Madrid, for example, show some interest, we'll be practically out of the race.

Real are more interested in ronaldo and vdv to care about xabi. I doubt he'll will want to stay if he doesn't get to play in important games.

And Benitez should understand that Xabi's transfer fee will massively decreased if he spends another season on Liverfekkin'wankscum's bench!

Talking about Liverfekkin'wankscum's transfers which in someway is connected to our mercato this summer, . This is the third player he wants to sign after Barry and David Silva. Despite selling Crouch, Benitez still needs a truckload of money to sign his other two targets. We'll see what will happen.

Stendardo was my first choice CB to partner Chiellini.

But Juventus' management had another opinion, and they went for Kenezvic instead.
