Senna is old for sure, but he will have a couple good years left in him which will be perfect for bringing up a player like Veloso, Montolivo, Marchisio or Cigarini behind him. I would not mind that move at all. He reads the game extremely well and was the unsung hero for Spain in Euro08. He is a very classy CM.

I think we need a LB badly. We have a lot of average players at RB, but they will have to do for this season. As for a CB... we have enough above average partners for Chiellini, I agree that we need a world class defender next to him. Zapata and Canini have mega potential, but I have faith in Criscito. He is very smart positionally and reads the game well. He just needs, as you say, some balls. But, over time, he will grow some fuzz on his peaches.

I actually think Criscito should be converted into a left back... He just doesn't look like a CB to me. I don't know how to explain it. I also think Zapata is highly overrated, some of the Udinese games I've seen against better opposition(i.e Inter, juve etc) he looks clueless, and is easily out-muscled. The ideal CB would have been Gerard Pique, but he went to Barca.If I had to choose right now, I would sign Santacroce and De silvestri.

I like Santacroce a lot, but I would prefer a less aggressive CB next to Chiellini. Criscito will be a good CB. He is just small right now. He will be just fine.
