i think teams underestimate Napoli, Samp, and Fiorentina at their own peril. I think this season will be the best season of serie a ever. Even teams like Genoa and Palermo aren't looking bad.

I totally agree. Fiorentina is really stacking up well, Udinese is looking solid, Napoli fight with spirit, Sampdoria have Cassano. Teams like Genoa and Lazio will improve. Palermo might take a half season to gel, but they have some nice peices in place.

The Shevchenko deal didn't went through. Would have been interesting to see Samp with Cassano and him.

Anyway, the Olympic team won a friendly against some local side 10-0. They will face Romania on Tuesday.

The U19 is currently playing the Czechs. Italy is up 3-2 but down one man. 15 minutes to go. Italy has to win. The defense is terrible.

4-2 Poli. Czech defense is poor, too.

4-3 now. Jeez, don't screw this up.

FT. Italy win the group. Next opponent will be Germany or Hungary. Both have 6 points and are battling for the win in their group in a couple of minutes.

But, Ramos doesn't defend too much. I guess that is the type of player that would appeal to our small-minded youth though. They seem to only notice players who run forward. Chiellini is probably the best young CB on the planet. Another great find by Moggi. He doesn't have any sex appeal though.

I agree 100% Ahmed... and you know that I come from the school of defending where our motto is: "Defense wins championships". It is true. Offense wins game, but defense wins championships. This is exactly why Fiorentina couldn't win the UEFA cup last year. I loved the way a terrible Rangers team made it all the way to a final they had no business being in.

I as well proudly graduated from the same school. And I'm in full agreement with what you've just said " Offense wins game", while "Defense wins championships".

As for the UEFA cup semi-final, I believe Fiorentina were so unlucky, despite the mistakes their defence committed and the stubbornness of Rangers.
