Experienced defender Simone Loria is celebrating a dream move to Roma and looking forward to a Champions League challenge. The 31-year-old impressed with mid-table minnows Siena last term and was brought to the Stadio Olimpico to replace Matteo Ferrari, who is heading for the exit. For Loria, who has spent his career playing for calcio’s less illustrious outfits, the move to the Eternal City has been intoxicating.

Roma captain Francesco Totti is hoping to have recovered from his knee injury by the time of the Italian Supercup match against Inter. Totti's recovery after his knee injury continues steadily and ahead of schedule. During this morning's training session at Trigoria, the Roma captain even allowed himself some ball kicking practice, another encouraging sign ahead of the first day of the Giallorossi's training camp, programmed for 21 July.

In the next few days professor Mariani will visit 'Er Pupone' and this will certainly give more information as to when he will be able to take part in training matches again.

The objective is still the same: to be ready for the Italian Supercup, the first official match against eternal rivals Inter.

Amoanatino Womancini

Yea, they can have him considering what a lousy bloody season he had for us. I cant wait to see him moaning around on the bench at Inter. If he thinks he wasnt treated right at Roma, he'll have another thing coming. I suspect he can always take comfort in the extra, what, 1.5 million they'll pay him?

What a streaky player he is. Anyone know how much we get for him? I would have like Suazo plus cash frankly. Shame that won't happen.

I never would have suspected that Mourinho would be an admirer of Moantino.

Mancini signs for Inter Thursday 10 July, 2008

Amantino Mancini is an Inter player after the Nerazzurri agreed a deal with Roma this afternoon.

The Brazilian wizard was a star for the Giallorossi last season, but had made it clear that he saw his future elsewhere.

New Inter boss Jose Mourinho set his heart on bringing Mancini in as his first addition and that has come to fruition.

Early indications are that the Italian champions will pay their Super Cup opponents £10.3m and that Mancini will sign a four-year deal worth £2.8m per season.

Looks like he is officially gone, Georgy, €13m hard is the figure being mentioned on various sites. Not a bad deal for us in the end, considering his contract is up next year. Now that we have moula, lets get this show on the road and get the bids in for Huntelaar, Mutu, The Beast, Messi, Robbie Keane, Pele, Santa friggin Clause, anyone.

I would of preferred if Suazo was involved in the deal too, but we were all set on a cash-only deal. Oh I wonder why. We're rumored to be after two forward players (even if we all know we're only gonna get one), so Suazo would of fitted the bill quite nicely. He would of fitted into the system quite well and is capable of playing a withdrawn forward role, and Spalletti would of been the man to get him back to his best. As for WoMancini, good riddens, he was a good player for us over the years but probably in the end caused us more trouble than he was worth. Like yourself, George, I'm very surprised Mourinho has gone after him, as the Special One is renowned for building a great team spirit and bond. Just wait until Amoanatino starts bitching that he isn't the centre of the Special One's attention or that he doesn't like the weather in Milan, we'll see how he does then.
