Burdisso row calls Carvalho?

Inter are reportedly furious with Nicolas Burdisso for joining Argentina’s Olympic side , but he opens the door to Ricardo Carvalho. Burdisso has been named as one of the over-age players in the team going to Beijing in August.

The Nerazzurri are said to be very angry at the surprise call-up and ready to veto his participation in the tournament. The Olympics are not an official FIFA event, so the club would be entirely within its rights to do so, as Milan have already for Kaka and Daniele Bonera.

On the other hand, the Gazzetta dello Sport claims Jose Mourinho is using this as extra leverage to demand a new defender – his favourite Carvalho.

The Chelsea man has already said he would be interested in reuniting with his former boss at San Siro and he could arrive as part of a package deal with Frank Lampard.

The Italians need Burdisso – or Carvalho – at the ready because when the season kicks off in late August they’ll be short on defenders.

Cristian Chivu, Ivan Cordoba and Walter Samuel are all still recovering from long-term injuries and it remains to be seen what their fitness levels will be.

Zanetti calls Frank and Leo

Inter captain Javier Zanetti would be happy to see Frank Lampard at San Siro and has called for Barcelona striking star Lionel Messi to join him.

The Italian champions are looking to add some high-profile new recruits to their ranks ahead of next season.

The main target seems to be Chelsea star Lampard, who Zanetti has great respect for.

Today not only did we see the official Chelsea statement that he won't be sold but also Scolari's version saying Lampard has told him he wants to stay where he is.

I think you've just saved yourselves money that's better spent elsewhere!

Inter On The Verge Of Signing Mancini

Inter are on the verge of signing Roma’s Amantino Mancini according to Calciomercato and the deal to bring the player to San Siro will be signed sealed and delivered within a matter of days.

Both clubs have been embroiled in fierce negotiations for the Brazilian winger and they now seem to have found an accord after Roma director met with Inter transfer guru Marco Branca.

According to reports, Roma have asked the Nerazzurri for €13m for their player and they are on the verge of completing the deal and getting some much needed cash to use on landing a striker.

Inter will be hoping to have the deal wrapped up by the end of the week as Jose Mourinho has made it well clear that he wants to have all the memebers of his squad ready and present for pre-season preparations on July 16.

The Giallorossi meanwhile are likely to use the incoming dividends from Mancini's sale in their pursuit of a top-class striker.

The club are in the process of strengthening and reports claim that Real Madrid's Julio 'The Beast' Baptista is the number one target man.

Lomba & Tony, just maybe Mou can knock Mancini's moodiness out of him. That aside, when he is up for it and in the mood, we all know what he can do so I guess that's what you mean by attitude! Today, according to Mediaset, is supposed to finally be the day his deal goes through. But that was also said of last Friday...as I keep saying, I wish they'd get it done because the longer these things drag out the more chance there is of something going wrong!

Oily, it's not that I dislike Lampard as such, he is a good enough player but not the genius he is made out to be. Clearly Moratti doesn't agree with me as he is supposed to be flying to London personally (again, Mediaset text service) to try to make the deal happen despite the official statement by Chelsea saying he is not for sale!

Carlo, we’ll see what happens. I think that even a moody player like Mancini will do his utmost to be at his best in his first years with a new team. When he is at a club like Inter, he will get to know that there is no room for complacency, unless he has Moratti as his no. 1 fan (Adriano, Recoba dicet). Apart from that, I do have the convintion that Mourinho has a hard approach to such attitudes, so I do guess that he will have to think a little before taking a certain approach.
Not to mention that if he is not in top form, there are other great players waiting to take his place. Balotelli will be most probably used in a wide position, we should get another winger (whoever that might be), I get the feeling that Stankovic will remain with us, so he is another alternative and Figo. Of course, we can also put a flat 4-4-2 formation, since we got quite a number of strikers.
So, he will soon understand that this is not Roma (with all due respect), and that he is just a number. If he is not in top condition, he will stay on the bench more often than not.

Oh you are right! Mancini had his own way for a long time at Roma but Spalletti finally lost his patience. Before last Christmas I hated the idea of him leaving but once it became obvious his heart was no longer in Roma he could only leave!

Yes, you have a very different set up at Inter and Mancini will soon learn he has to compete with 2 or 3 other guys for his place. At Roma he only had to worry about Giuly until Spalletti (thank goodness) discovered Vučinić could do anything Mancini could as a left sided forward!

To start with at least, Mancini will be out to impress Mou. So will all the other players though...

I think this Siligardi kid has some potential.I haven't seen him play or anything but he has always been in the news when it comes to the youth team

MILAN - Luca Siligardi has renewed his contract with Inter until 30 June 2012 and has completed a loan move to Bari, with whom he will play Serie B football next season.

The attacking midfielder, 20, was a key player for Inter Primavera in 2007/08, scoring 19 goals in 34 appearances in league, Tim Cup, Super Cup and Carnival Cup matches. He was Inter's top scorer in the league with 16 goals in 22 games.
