The Tiago apologists just need to accept the fact that he is not suited to this team. He is an above average player with potential to be good, but he will never reach that potential with a big team like Juventus. He needs to go to a second level club where he will stand out more and not be smothered by better players. Tiago is not tactically disciplined enough to play for a very rigid club like Juventus and he is not exceptional enough for a very narrow minded coach like Ranieri to have patience on. Tiago is best to be sold to a lesser team in a different league where he can regain his confidence. He should have never been brought to Juventus and management need to write this wrong as soon as possible by selling him and cashing out.
Despite denials from the player yesterday, the Gazzetta dello Sport is adamant that Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco has handed Sevilla midfielder Christian Poulsen a contract offer to join the club.
Poulsen’s name has permeated the Italian press this week, and there were reports yesterday morning that the Danish international was just days or even hours away from completing a transfer to Juventus.
These claims were then supported by Juve President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, who stated that “the fans will like a midfield warriorâ€
According to La Stampa, Juventus have approached Sampdoria over the possibility of obtaining a transfer option on star man Antonio Cassano.
Cassano is widely regarded as one of Italy’s most gifted players, but he has still yet to really fulfill his potential due to his rather ‘wild’ personality.
The 25-year-old has just recently been signed by Sampdoria on a permanent deal, having impressed hugely last season on loan from Real Madrid.
Cassano’s superb performances in the port city saw him travel to Euro 2008, and inevitable has led to the big clubs taking notice.
La Stampa says that during Sampdoria’s negotiations with Juve for Argentine midfielder Sergio Almiron, the Old Lady popped the question of the possibility of obtaining a transfer option on Cassano.
With Alessandro The Waterboy set to turn 34 later this year, Juve need to start preparing for life without their inspirational captain.
Cassano has been strongly linked with a move to the Old Lady in the past, and was reportedly close to joining in the summer of 2006, until the Calciopoli crisis broke out, and the transfer inevitably collapsed.
Serie A champions Inter are also said to be very interested in the former Bari talent.

After exploding from joy, I would take back every bad thing I said about this managment if we signed Cassano. Cassano was born to wear the Juventus jersey and it would be my dream come true to see him in the squad. Cassano and The Waterboy rotating would almost be too great for me to handle.
According to reports in Italy, Juventus are considering whether to sign Salzburg’s Timo Ochs or Fulham’s Antti Niemi, as Gianluigi Buffon’s goalkeeping understudy next season.
The Old Lady are attempting to strengthen their squad ahead of next season’s two-fronted attack on Serie A and Europe.
While the midfield is a particularly well known problem area, there is also a need to find a quality reserve for first choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Current reserve Emanuele Belardi looked very shaky when he filled in last campaign, while Jess Vanstrattan is too inexperienced and could return to his native country of Australia.
According to the latest reports in Italy, the Bianconeri are currently considering two possible backups for Buffon.
The first is 26-year-old German goalkeeper Timo Ochs, who plays for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, and has been recommended by the club’s former coach Giovanni Trapattoni.
The second option sis Fulham veteran Antti Niemi, 36, who has lost his first team place at Craven Cottage to the American Kasey Keller.
Another name to have been linked to Juve in recent weeks is Chelsea understudy Carlo Cudicini.

My first choices would be Cudini or Roma. But, Ochs might be ok. I would steer clear of Niemi who I think is too old.
Aston Villa has signed Sidwell, Crouch agrees to Pompey terms, which should free up Barry to move to Liverfekkin'wankscum and possibly Alonso out to Juventus. I must admit... with the lack of decent names we are being linked with, Alonso seems like the best choice. I guarantee that this management would cough out money for a top Italian CM like Montolio, and of course they would never go with the best 20 year old midfielder in the world in Hamsik... nor would they want one of the best young DM's on the planet in Veloso... so why not sign Alonso? I don't think he is that good and he is terribly overrated, but he is the best Cm we have been realistically linked with in recent weeks.
Juventus have reportedly pulled the plug on their pursuit of Liverfekkin'wankscum midfielder Xabi Alonso, a decision which could have vast repercussions for both clubs’ transfer plans…
The Sun claims Juve have scrapped their plans to bring Alonso to Turin, despite the move appearing all but done after several weeks of negotiations.
Prior to EURO 2008, it seemed only a matter of putting to pen to paper but closing talks were put off during the tournament and have failed to pick up where they left off.
It is believed the Reds are now refusing to budge from their original ₤16million asking price, a figure the Old Lady simply will not – or cannot – meet.
Hence, the Bianconeri have turned to alternative targets such as Sevilla’s Christian Poulsen and Internazionale’s Dejan Stankovic – the latter of whose proposed move has met with angry protests from the Juve faithful.
But the situation at Anfield is even more interesting, as Alonso’s non-departure could effectively scupper Rafa Benitez’s hopes of landing Aston Villa wantaway Gareth Barry.
It is understood Benitez was to use the cash from the Basque playmaker’s transfer to fund the Barry deal, as Villa are demanding ₤18million for their skipper. The Merseyside giants have repeatedly denied that this was the case, but that stance will most certainly be tested now.
The timing of these happenings also leaves Barry in a particularly unpleasant situation, as the England midfielder effectively severed ties with Villa recently when he publicly declared his desire to join Liverfekkin'wankscum.
As Villa have already secured a replacement in Steve Sidwell, the 27-year-old could be out in the cold if Benitez decides to drop the deal and focus on attacking reinforcements instead.
