At least that way, they'll have an explaination for their fans for selling Lampard; they can say they tried to hold onto him for as long as they could but in the end, he didn't want to stay. Sounds a lot better than "we sold him with the first official bid we recieved".

MILAN - Massimo Moratti commented on Chelsea's official statement declaring that Frank Lampard is not for sale.

He said: "They replied that they have no intention of negotiating, as was their right. Now we will see."

In their communiquÃƒÂ© Chelsea said that no financial offer was made. "This is not true," said Moratti. "There's an offer and we will confirm it. However, we don't want to create any big problems.

"Am I optimistic? We will see..."

Porto's president is still sayin that Inter made no official bid for Quaresma and he's sayin that this is the only reason negotiations stopped and aint takin a new level
so what do u think , is that ryt that we didnt make an official bid yet for quaresma and if we didnt what are we waitin 4

These Porto SOB's are just holding out for more money.Quaresma is the biggest player they have.They want to get as much as possible for him.At the same time they know that their time is running out as quaresma wants inter and no other club is bidding for him.

People should stop analyzing official statements made by clubs. These are just intended to cover their respective asses.

We could just be waiting to tie up the Mancini deal before we focus on the Quaresma transfer. It would make sense to get the 'easier' transfers out of the way first. Even if there is no official offer on the table for him, it's probably safe to say that there's been quite a bit of discussion about it between both clubs' officials. Unless our names are Moratti, Branca or Orialli, we won't know for sure.

I never though of this before but with these latest revelations may be lampard is using Inter to get a better deal for himself

Scolari: Lamps will stay

BIG PHIL SCOLARI today uttered the words every Chelsea fan wanted to hear: Frank Lampard WILL stay with us for many years.

The ex-Brazil and Portugal coach met with his squad for the first time yesterday.

And he was quick to carry out his first major task as Blues boss, when he met Lampard for showdown talks.

England ace Lamps is wanted by Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan and Chelsea have already rejected an approach from the San Siro club.

Lampard could leave Stamford Bridge for nothing next season when his current contract ends.

But Scolari is confident the midfielder will sign a new deal and remain with the Blues for the long term future.

Scolari revealed: "I met with Frank Lampard yesterday and I spoke to him about his future for 15 minutes.

"I asked him if he wants to stay at Chelsea.

"He told me he wants to stay and play for Chelsea for many years.

"I was very happy because Chelsea needs Lampard.

"I like him as a player and as a person.

"Lampard will be with us for many years."

Scolari also confirmed he hopes to keep striker Didier Drogba at Chelsea.

He added: "I like him. He is 200 per cent part of my plans."

If he gets the deal he want's, he'll be the highest paid player in the EPL. You wonder what 10,000 pounds a week means to you if you're earning 130,000 a week. Greed in it's purest form.

Una giornata apertasi malissimo per le velleitÃƒÂ nerazzurre di acquistare Frank Lampard, si sta invece chiudendo con risvolti piÃƒÂ¹ che positivi per via Durini. Secondo quanto riportato dall'Inghilterra, pare che Frank Lampard si sia letteralmente infuriato con il tecnico dei Blues Felipe Scolari, reo di avere totalmente stravolto il senso delle parole che i due si sono scambiati nel giorno del raduno del Chelsea.
