Tell 'em you're off Frank

INTER MILAN want Frank Lampard to tell Big Phil Scolari: I’m off.

Scolari faces a nightmare start to his reign as Chelsea boss as the Italian giants step up their bid to lure Lamps to the San Siro.

A senior Inter source told SunSport: “We will do whatever is necessary to sign Lampard.

"Jose Mourinho has informed the president he wants Lamps at the club by the time the players return on July 16.

“We are confident we will fulfil the coach’s wish.â€

So, this should be the most important week of this summer for us. I say 'should' cause obviously this can vary easily. NExt week, a big part of our group (those who didnt participate in the Euro) will meet for the official start of the season, and one of Mourinho's actual requests was to have the new arrivals already in the squad by that time.
So lets make a quick summary here :

Mancini - This should be our 'easiest' transfer. Branca & Prade have already met more than once to find an agreement, and the difference between asking price & demand is limited to about 3 million euros. Inter are hoping that Roma accept the co-ownership of Obinna, for those 3M difference, but if not, Moratti is ready to further his offer by 2M cash. At this point, Roma will accept this demand. A new meeting between the 2 parties will be held today, whereas Mancini's agent will be in Italy on thursday, but that is the least problem, since an agreement between the club and the player has already been reached.
Lampard - Lampard will be an Inter player by this summer, no matter what Chelsea say. The current 'game' is not about money, since Chelsea know they cant get any decent offer for a 30 year old who’s contract ends next june. Also, Lampard has already talked with Chelsea, stating his desire to try a new adventure before he ends his carreer. The problem seems to be on who will have to do the first move. Chelsea do not wish to officially accept without having Lampard state publicly his intentions, thus making Lampard look as the traitor in the eyes of the fans, whereas Lampard is reluctant to leave on such a sore note. The problem will eventually be resolved sooner or later, so no major problems in there either.
Quaresma - This is our biggest headache. Porto's request for the player is sky high, and Inter are not ready to offer that amount. The 2 clubs will have to reach a meeting point somewhere in the middle, if the request can be accepted. For this reason, Inter are proposing 2 alternatives, as part of the deal. As we all well know, they are either Pele (reluctantly) or Suazo (preferibly, considering his high wage and not adaptability to the new module). Porto however have recently asked for Cruz, but Inter is not ready to lose out on one of the most important team members, and one of the fans' favourites(actually, there are already plans to make a contract extension). Porto knows that there is no other alternative buyer for Quaresma and the bad Euro he's had didnt help them keep their demand high or create alternatives. A solution can be found, somehow, and I think that in the end, both parties will settle for Pele. However, there is no real urgency to settle this transfer, since just the same, he wont be able to join the squad from the start, having played in the Euro.

CHELSEA REJECT INTER APPROACH

Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has received an official approach from Internazionale to discuss the possible transfer of Frank Lampard. Contrary to reports no financial offer was made.

Chelsea FC has informed Inter this morning (Tuesday, July that we will not enter into any discussions regarding the transfer of Frank Lampard.
