Juve Set To End Alonso Chase

According to reports in Italy, Juventus are set to drop their interest in Xabi Alonso after growing frustrated at the lack of progress during negotiations with Liverfekkin'wankscum.

With deals for Aquilani and Hamsik impossible, and Stankovic also unlikely due to fan protests, Alonso had emerged as Juve’s new first choice signing.

The Old Lady have been attempting to negotiate a transfer fee with Liverfekkin'wankscum for the player, but have grown increasingly frustrated at the failure to reach a compromise, with the Merseysiders said to be demanding €20m and Juve only prepared to pay €15m.

Over the weekend Ranieri stated that Alonso was not the only centre midfielder that Juve were interested in, and according to latest reports in Italy, the club have become so fed up with proceedings that they are ready to end their chase for Alonso.

Alonso signed for Liverfekkin'wankscum in 2004 from Basque Country-based Spanish side Real Sociedad.

Before the candidates for Juventus midfield were four; now they are two; the noegotiation between Roma and Alberto Aquilani for his contract's renewal are getting too long; Juventus don't want to listen to their fans' protest, but if Stankovic would fail it would be an enormous problem. The piemontese club's tactic is now clear: They will try to block Seville's Christian Poulsen while trying the decisive assault to Xabi Alonso; if the negotiation for the Liverfekkin'wankscum player will fail, the Dane will move to Turin.

Aquilani has and always will be nothing more than a dream. I still have hope, but I really doubt it will ever happen (why no Montolivo?). I wouldn't mind a Stankovic move. He is definately the best player we have been linked with for the CM, but he is old and he is Interisti. All that would change after a few games. I like Poulsen as a player, but not for Juventus. We have Zanetti who is better and similar to Poulsen. As for Alonso, he is over-priced and our focus on him could screw us if we don't act fast.

Cigarini ponders Parma stay

In-demand Parma starlet Luca Cigarini is being tipped for an Atalanta move, but he insists that he could stay with the Ducali into Serie B.

Cigarini will be on show at this summer’s Olympic Games in China and is seen as a star of the future.

Having been linked with Juventus, the 22-year-old is now expected to join Atalanta in a co-ownership deal, but he isn’t desperate to evacuate the Stadio Tardini.

Reports: Juve On Verge Of Signing Poulsen

Juventus are just hours away from completing the signing of Sevilla’s controversial midfielder Christian Poulsen, according to the latest reports in Italy.

Juve are well known to have made a centre midfielder their top priority this summer, but despite pouring their efforts into a host of targets, including Xabi Alonso, Alberto Aquilani, Dejan Stankovic and Marek Hamsik, they have yet to bring anyone in.

Last week it was reported in the press that the Bianconeri had turned their attentions to Sevilla’s Christian Poulsen.

The 28-year-old is something of an infamous figure in Italy, following his clash with Francesco Totti in a Euro 2004 group game between Italy and Denmark.

During that match in Portugal, Totti spat at Poulsen after being provoked by the midfielder, and was later banned for three games through the use of video evidence.

Poulsen, who has also had high-profile clashes with Gennaro Gattuso and Carlo Ancelotti, has a minimum fee release clause of €10m in his Sevilla contract, a fee that Juve are more than happy to cough up.

Old Lady sporting director Alessio Secco is believed to have held a meeting with the player’s agent last week, and according to latest reports a deal is all but completed, and Poulsen could officially be a Juve player within hours. There is talk of the Dane receiving a three-year contract worth around €2.5m per season.

I have always been a fan of Poulsen and I love the way he plays, but I would prefer Alonso. Regardless, he would be a solid player to have on the roster, but he would not finish our CM.
