My fear is that we're in a bad position of acquiring Quaresma, therefore someone found in Obinna an alternative, but WTF of an alternative is that?? If we dont get Quaresma, hopefully we either change tactics to a more stable 4-4-2 or just include Balotelli more regularly on that wide part, like he used to play in the last part of the season.
With regards to Crespo, if he hasnt been offered a contract yet, than that can only mean one thing.

The thing is that we could of just waited until at least the middle of the transfer window before making the decision on whether to sign Obinna or not as we would have a better indication of how the Quaresma deal is progressing. And if we were looking to just purchase him to on-sell him, why would we give him a contract of 4 years? Something just doesn't add up here. This really did come out of the blue apart from his agent stating yesterday that Obinna would infact stay with Inter. Also, I would lose a lot of respect for Branca and Orialli if they gave up the chase of a player 3 days after the transfer window officially opened; Quaresma clearly wants Inter and I don't remember any deal for a player worth that much being concluded overnight.

There was plenty of scorn in Mailbox at the news that Deco was Luiz Felipe Scolari's first signing at Chelsea. The Brazil-born Portuguese will be 31 in August and it is questionable how much impact he will have - especially if, like so many imports, he takes a season or so to adjust. Now it's time for another player to move - or he too will be 31 by the time he gets to play in a new country.

Readers cited a number of ageing signings made by the Blues. Above all look at Michael Ballack, who came from the Bundesliga, which in style resembles the Premiershit rather more than the southern European leagues. He endured a disappointing year or so here before coming good in time to almost win a load of trophies.

Still, Deco is here and competing for a place. Reports suggest that Roman Abramovich has made Andrei Arshavin an offer he can't refuse. It's not as if the Chelsea midfield was understaffed in the first place.

There is one midfielder linked strongly with moving away from the Bridge. Jose Mourinho is "100 per cent sure" that the man in question will wind up at Inter sooner or later. And no, it's not Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Chelsea want to keep Frank Lampard and are reportedly ready to offer him £140,000 a week to stay, a record salary in the Premiershit. But the player has a year left on his deal and Inter appear to believe he will see out that current contract then move to them next summer.

These are difficult decisions for Lampard - but the one thing he shouldn't worry about in his decision is money. In the early 1990s, moving to Italy was a way for English footballers to secure their financial future as Serie A wages were far higher than those here. But Lampard, after five years on Roman Abramovich's books and with the endorsements that come from that and an England career, has made enough to live comfortably and then some without ever working again.

What's an extra £5,000 a week between friends? Worth almost driving your car off the North Circular if you're Ashley Cole, a fortune to you or I, but meaningless to a player with this level of wage and an ability to count. He should focus on his career and his life, and what he wants to feel about the former when he does finally retire.

A move to Italy could achieve much for him. He is never noticeably short of self-confidence (sometimes bewilderingly so), but if he is capable of being realistic then he will realise that his England starting place is in some jeopardy. Jose Mourinho improved him as a player enormously; perhaps Luiz Felipe Scolari can do the same, but playing in Serie A would stretch him. Making it at Inter is a certain way to impress Fabio Capello, too.

Throughout his career and indeed back to his youth, Lampard has been determined to make himself the best player he could be - and it's certain that he has achieved far more than anyone expected when he was seen as being overpromoted because of his name at West Ham. Yet except for the golden spell with England between June 2004 and October 2005 - when nine of his 14 international goals came and his achievements with club and country led to his being voted Footballer of the Year - his critics have always been vocal and at times numerous. Becoming a success in Italy would give him a chance to prove his critics wrong; further achievements at Chelsea are less likely to be as persuasive.

It would be a big step to take after the death of his mother, but perhaps the change of scenery would help him to move on personally, too. He has usually been linked with Spain because of the nationality of his partner, Elen Rives, and perhaps a move to Italy would be a challenge for their young children, who would perhaps need to grow up trilingual. But that situation won't have changed in a year's time.

Lampard was 30 in June. He has a chance to be in at the beginning of Mourinho's reign at Inter. If he is going to go, he should go now.

Obinna in Inter limbo

Chievo striker Victor Obinna wants to play for co-owners Inter, but a meeting today failed to settle his future.

The Nerazzurri helped Chievo fund their deal for the Nigerian ace when he arrived in the peninsula in exchange for half his rights.

And after three years wearing the Flying Donkeys’ jersey, Obinna is demanding the chance to represent the Beneamata.

Inter Snap Up Teenage Starlet
Inter Milan have signed highly rated young Foligno striker Stefano Giacomelli on a season long-loan.

The 18-year-old Giacomelli has shown great promise for Foligno, who last season narrowly missed out on promotion from Serie C1A into Serie B, when they lost in a playoff to Cittadella.

Inter have moved to snap up the highly rated young striker, and have secured the loan services of the teenager, with the later option of full ownership.

"This transfer demonstrates once again the excellent work done in recent years by the youth sector of the Biancazzurro," read a club statement from Foligno.

Inter have yet to make a big signing this summer, despite being reportedly close to Roma’s Amantino Mancini, Porto’s Ricardo Quaresma, and Chelsea’s Frank Lampard. The Nerazzurri have been picking up some promising youngsters though, and last month moved in on Treviso’s ironically-named frontman Jago The Waterboy.

why cant Quaresma give a word about this complicated transfer
if he wants Inter then definatly he can give a good push in this deal , he wont be asked 2 stay by force so if he want out he will get it and let's not forget that there are no deals for him except Inter's so for him now and for Porto it's either Inter or Stay at Porto
