How pathetic is our management right now. We get on our knees and ask Real Madrid for a loan of Baptista. They turn around and insert him into the negotiations for Cristiano Ronaldo. Roma, is relegated to watching what transpires between ManUre and Real. However, if the deal does not happen, or, if Baptista is not part of it in the end, his agent said today that there is absolutely no way he will come to Roma on loan. It must be a permanent transfer. Appparently he wants to come to Roma according to the reports I am reading in Italy. Doni and Cicinho are trying to lure him into coming. But how is that possible when it is obvious that we don't have the money to complete a full transfer.

Kewell Says Yes To Roma
According to reports in Italy, Harry Kewell could be a Roma player by as early as next week after giving his consent to a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Kewell ended his miserable five-year stay on Merseyside at the end of last season when Liverfekkin'wankscum opted against offering him a new contract.

Now a free agent, the 29-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Roma over the past few weeks or so, and according to Ansa, the Giallorossi last week offered Kewell €1m per season in order to join them.

Latest reports in Italy claim that the Australian has given his consent to a move to the Eternal City, and could officially be a Roma player as early as next week.

If Kewell were to join the Giallorossi he would hook-up with former Liverfekkin'wankscum team-mate John Arne Riise, who completed his move to the Stadio Olimpico last week.

Roma would only be Kewell’s third senior club of his career, having also spent 1995 until 2003 at Leeds United.

Antunes will more than likely be leaving Roma on loan for the new season, but taking into account our managements fondness of throwing away some of our best young talent, I wouldn’t completely discount the possibility of a full sale, if the price is right. He is a very promising young left-full, one who was wanted by a host of big European clubs before we picked him up last summer, but he only made five or so appearances for us last season. A loan move to Celtic doesn’t make a lot of sense though as he’s hardly likely to be ahead of Lee Naylor for a first-team slot, and I think it would be better if he were loaned to an Italian side to get some proper first-team experience of the Italian game.

Andrew, I like Antunes. Given time he will prove himself well able, I'm sure. If we loan him out I hope we have the sense to recall and play him.

Shield, I was going to respond to your Kewell and Mutu points in the Wolf's Den but here will do as Mutu is mentioned in a piece of hypothesis over a possible Perrotta part exchange, irrespective of denials. Purely for the sake of this post, I'm not sure I'd like to lose Perrotta. I think his form loss toward the end of the season was down to tiredness and much as I like Mutu I have to say I too prefer the thought of our getting a proven, out and out goal machine up front. It doesn't change the fact though that Mutu is tailor made for our present formation.

As for Kewell, let him go to Galatasary!

Reports from Brazil indicate that AS Roma are on the verge of snapping up highly-rated Fluminense midfielder Thiago Neves.

Thiago Neves is without doubt the most sought after attacking midfielder in Brazil at the moment, and the Fluminense star could well join Roma next season.

The 23-year-old played a key role as Fluminense reached the final of the Copa Libertadores, but he ended up on the losing side, despite scoring a hattrick in the decider. He also scored a goal in the first leg of the tie.

His brilliant performances in South America's most prestigious club competition attracted the attention of several of Europe's top clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Inter Milan.

However, according to reports Roma are currently in negotiations with the agent of the player, and it is very possible for him to play his football at the Stadio Olimpico next season.

Despite the lack of information, it has been said that the player could join the Italian club by early next week, so that he can already begin preseason training with his new teammates.

Last year Thiago Neves was voted the best player in the Brazilian National Championship, and many expect him to make a huge impact on European football, as well as for the Brazilian national team.

I don't know anything other than what I've read above on Neves. I do however know about Arsenal's Gilberto...both sound like more gossip, particularly Neves if he is such a hot property though I must say he sounds the part!

Roma full-back Vitorino Gabriel Antunes admits he is 'excited' by the prospect of a move to Celtic. The Scottish champions have been linked with a bid for Antunes, who made nine appearances for Roma last season. He is keen to play regular first-team football in the coming campaign, and could be available on either a season-long loan or permanent deal. Antunes has learned of Celtic's interest and has revealed that he is tempted by the chance to join Gordon Strachan's side.

"My agent has made me aware Celtic are interested in taking me to Scotland and that's an exciting prospect," Antunes told the Daily Record. "I don't know any of their players at the moment, but I do know they're a great club and in Scotland they're champions nearly all of the time.

"They get to the Champions League every year and having played in that competition last season for Roma I want more of it. That is one of the things that makes a move to Celtic interesting for me.

"If something happens that allows me to come to Glasgow I would be playing for a massive club in the Champions League. "That's why I would not regard moving from Italy to Scotland as a backward step in my career.

"If I could come on loan for a year I would be happy. Maybe after that something could be done for me to stay longer."

Nella mattinata di oggi Enzo Maresca è stato affiancato alla società giallorossa come sostituto di un Simone Perrotta coinvolto nella trattaiva che porterebbe Adrian Mutu a Roma. Il centrocampista, che ora milita nel Siviglia, sarebbe un ottimo acquisto per la società giallorossa ma a quanto pare non c'è stato ancora alcun contatto. "Le cose che si leggono sui giornali - dice Candido Fortunato, agente di Maresca, a Romanews.eu- a me non risultano. Anzi. Sarei curioso di sapere qual è la fonte e chi le ha messe in circolazione". Solo voci dunque. Il 28enne centrocampista non ha ricevuto corteggiamenti dalla Roma. Forse si aspettano delle novità sull'affare Mutu. Oppure rimarranno solo voci.
