Milan To Replace Dida With Another Brazilian
According to Tuttosport, Milan could be set to replace outgoing goalkeeper Nelson Dida with another Brazilian, in the form of Santos’ Felipe.

Dida’s 2007/08 season with the Rossoneri was nothing short of disastrous, and the Italian press firmly believe that he will be on his way out of the door this summer.

The first half of the Brazilian’s campaign was ridden with errors, including a costly one in the Milan derby defeat to Inter before Christmas. He was also involved in the infamous Champions League episode against Celtic when he was suspended and fined following an altercation with a fan.

Dida eventually lost his place to Zeljko Kalac in January, and did not play again all season. Milan are expected to release the 34-year-old on a free transfer, with Cruzeiro, the team he played for earlier in his career from 1994 to 98, the favourites to snap him up.

As a replacement for Dida, Tuttosport is reporting that Milan are considering making a move for Santos’ shot-stopper Felipe Garcia dos Prazeres.

The 20-year-old is 6ft 3in tall, and is highly rated in his homeland. He grew up in the Santo youth team, making his senior debut back in 2006.

the problems with R10 ayt Barca are over-stated and I think Barca are more to blame than him for this situation, Im not suggesting he's faultless, but Braca have hisotorically shown their inability to hold onto their superstars for more than a few years and would throw to the wolves as soon as the going gets tough...its the same pattern thourghout the years and I think Messi will also leave them in 2-3 years as well.... I believe R10, still 28, can be easily revived at Milan, the class and talent are there and do not disappear in one season in which his entire team, not just him, sucked

EXACTLY!!! Why the heck Seedorf has to come out and say we dont need Ronaldinho? Honestly i think that a middfield of Pirlo, Flamini and Veloso would be essential, but the later one has not much chances comming this year, so we have to field Ambrosini or Gattuso (preferably Ambro). Veloso is true Milan fan, from childhood, but for timebeing, there is no chance that Galliani wil pay that 20 milion euros for him.

Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf and Emerson should all fight for first team, matter fact they can be a perfect back-up of the first team. However, I dont see this happening with Ancelotti on charge. He owns them so much, so i think he'll stick to them...

Ahmed, I thought it was only worth a mensh in the Shoutbox but since you bring up Dinho's weight issue, I'm sure all the Milanisti here will have appreciated Daniele Tognaccini's statement of intent today that he'll make "Gordinho," the Little Fat One lose weight if Milan get him this summer.

He better had if the rossoneri want value for their money. They sure as hell didn't get that out of the Big Fat One!

Guys, let me explain myself to both of you as I'm new here...although Milan are direct Serie A rivals to my Lupi, I always enjoy watching your favourite team in the CL. They are after all fellow Italians.

I don't doubt Ronaldinho will get his act together with encouragement from Kaka and his Brazilian camaradas...once you get him to Milanello which seems more likely to happen than not, given the latest rumours. What would annoy me if I was a rossonero would be that even with his limited first X1 appearances for Barca, it seems to be taking some amount of persuasion to get him to think of coming to Milan.

Ahmed, you are the "Doubting Thomas" amongst us on this issue and you could yet be proved correct...

It seems the rest of us are of the opinion that Dinho will be more likely to come to Milan this summer than not.

I took it to be it wasn't just the OTT value placed on him by Barca that was holding up the transfer but a lack of serious commitment from the player himself. In fact until very recently it seemed to me the transfer was all but forgotten.

I plead lack of proper attention to the affair for not knowing all the facts...

All I can say is that we are really fucked up!!! This transfer policy sucks and so do the excuses of financial power!

As for the other locked thread of UEFA in Milan Forum, I'm wondering since when other fans try to make fun of champions League and Milan? You sillys we won Champiosn League more than your teams can do in next 100 years (jointly)!

The thing is that we are after players that have no class whatsoever, but had some decent performance on their previous year. For the kind of club that Milan is and for kind of ambitions this team has these types of policies are truly wrong.

We lost pure 7 million Euros on Oliveira within one year, 10 million Euros on Gilardino for 2 years, around 12 other for both Emerson and Ronaldo and around 7 million on Boriello. This in total is around 40 million Euros and instead we could have signed 2 Pato’s for last 2 years.

This year we will rely pretty much on the same team as in last year which proved to be disastrous. This year only our left backs have changed, and even though Flamini has arrived I don’t see him getting a starting place on our team for the same reason that Pato lost his place to Inzaghi last year. Then we have Boriello coming back, which couldn’t prove himself for 5-6 years in Milan, had a decent performance on low table team now everyone in Milan thinks he’s better than Huntlear. For fucks sake every year in Serie A there are players that score 20 goals or more still they are nothing but a flop.

In midfield we have Gattuso and Seedorf who perform one good game out of five, and in general we have only 3 players that can play every week. Others need rest… fuck it… since when our players cant play one game per week? The truth is that if we wanted to be competitive we have to match the level of other teams. If Inter who clearly finished first 30+ points ahead of us, is trying to buy Quaresma, Lampard and God knows who, then what the heck are we expecting to do? Zambrotta, Flamini and Boriello are just not enough.

At least we should have spent money wise for all these years, if money was the question, and by that we would have secured easily the qualification to champions league last year in a VERY weak league of Italy. President Berlusconi was right when he said last year was the worse season since he came in power. If so, which we agree with, then why the heck we don’t implement the best transfer strategy to get our arses out of there! Where is passion Mr. President? The one that Glazzers, Abramovich, Madrid and Barcelona have… even bloody kid Moratti is benefiting from this situation… finally adding some trophies to his sitar after decades of trophyless seasons.
