kewell will be terrible in serie a. as much as i'd like to see him ply his trades in the best league in the world, i just dont think he can take it "physically" anymore. needs to stay in the epl and go to a smaller club. oh, btw, he has been linked with roma more than juve. and quite alot i mite add too.

Roma Offer Contract To Kewell

According to Ansa, AS Roma have presented financial terms to Harry Kewell in the hope of signing the player on a free transfer.

Kewell ended his miserable five-year stay on Merseyside at the end of last season when Liverfekkin'wankscum opted against offering him a new contract.

Now a free agent, the 29-year-old has been heavily linked over the past week or so with a free transfer move to Roma.

According to Ansa, the Giallorossi have offered Kewell €1m per season in order to join them.

This is approximately €500k less than what the Australian is asking for, however it is believed that a compromise should not be too hard to find, and a transfer is very possible.

Nothing will be officially sorted however until Kewell returns from his holiday in a week’s time, but all the signs are there that the player could be landing in Rome.

Juve fans ban Stankovic

The controversy over Dejan Stankovic’s move to Juventus rolls on as fans start a petition to ban any transfers from Inter.

The Bianconeri have confirmed they are interested in signing the Serb midfielder, but this decision has caused shockwaves in the fan community.

A petition has been started to convince the club that Stankovic would be the wrong move for a number of reasons.

When he left Lazio in January 2004, he had seemed set to join Juve, but at the last second chose rivals Inter instead.

Also, he was among the most vocal detractors of Juventus during the Calciopoli scandal, when the 2005-06 title was stripped from the Turin giants’ record and handed to Inter.

“Stankovic is a wide midfielder and we need someone who can lead the play from the middle of the park,â€

Who says the board will listen to the fans?

If fans had the final say on transfers we probably wouldn't have signed Sissoko or Iaquinta.


Stankovic is available for a reasonable price and he is a player who would improve our squad depth.


However, I can understand those against it. I struggle to muster real anger against other Italian teams, but there are Rangers players that I would not accept at Aberdeen.

I like Iaquinta and would prefer to keep him, but if he is the only way to get Hamsik or Alonso I would be willing to sacrifice him.

I don't think the Banega link is real.

We have supposedly offered 15m + Tiago for Veloso, but I still think all these stories are BS and we will sign Alonso.

Talking about transfers, should we wait for Alonso to undergo the medical examination in Turin this week or we'll end up signing the fans' favourite, Stankovic?
