By the way chris, we have a number of players at Lecce right now, most of whom helped them to get back to Serie A. The status of those players remains in doubt but they all played well down there for the last few years. Without them, Lecce stays in B. We also called back Leandro Greco from Verona, but I assume he will be loaned out again.

Ita, these joint ownership deals I guess can be a curse even if sometimes working in our favor. Well, we have this Arthur Gusmao character and in the rotation ststem we'll soon see what he can or can't do better than Curci.

Xeno, I'm glad you clarified Freddi by giving his full name. Earlier I wasn't sure if you meant Fred, the Lyon front man as we are supposed to be interested in him and that's why I left off from answering you. I see others I'd rather have than Fred around...

Franco Sensi wants to hang on to Roma as an inheritance for Rosella apart from anything else. Soros only wanted to buy us at rock bottom price and sell us on for a profit.

What we need is almost impossible at this moment to find by the looks of it. A wealthy Italian businessman whose sympathies actually lie with our giallorossi. I suppose the next best thing would be a rich Italian business conglomerate who would refloat us and put us on a financial level with the Milano pair and Juventus. Money is more than ever a sign of the footballing times and I'm waiting for the point where the CL becomes the absolute be all and end all of the game with each country's domestic leagues existing only as a means for the exact same elite names to qualify from each year.

I don't mean to be like I'm preaching from a soap box but it's hard not to picture this when we look at Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverfekkin'wankscum etc who can buy just who they want to get what they want.

So where does this leave us without money? At the point where we start looking at the Uefa Cup as being a realistic target? Platini and Uefa are going to have to find some way of stopping this rich boys monopoly by forcing the 6 homegrown players minimum rule through in some form acceptable to the EEC...or by finding an alternative solution because the FIFA/Uefa Fair Play slogan sure as hell isn't applying off the field of play!

You guys are both indirectly grabbing at my point by saying our youth system must be taken care of properly and used to feed our first team, not to mention also our Nazionale.

The article I saw in Goal.com yesterday suggesting that gli Azzurri could find a growing number of names in the squad of guys born outside Italy isn't what I want to see at all. Sure there are exceptions, the odd one here and there has been the case for years but that's acceptable. We don't want to see it becoming an increasing norm though, do we?
