cant believe we fucking gave in and paid 12mil euro. im not sure if im interpretting this wrong before but... did we pay 7.5mil or 3.75mil euro for half of Vucinic in the first place??

I don't know if you guys have read it, but Franco Sensi has been in the hospital. The same hospital that took care of our late great Pope, John Paul II. Just like the sale of the club is a matter of time, the same can be said for the end of the life of Franco.

lol, you have to admire the initiatives taken (and lack of patience) of some roma fans to actually show up and sign a contract to play as a striker. that's brilliant! it's great that they actually opened the gates at trigoria for him too.

Maro, I need a huge favor. I need you to write something for me. We have what you call 'school districts' where I live. Each district has a 'school board', comprised of mostly blunt-skulled idiots who have never been out of their tomby old towns let alone another country. Where I live we have one of the largest school districts in our State, with an annual budget of 80 million american. The tax base is huge as you can immagine. To make a long story short, this bunch of wankers have decided to cut the elementary world language program for kids from ages 5 to 11. It's a good program with good teachers. That means, no foreign languages will be taught during these formative years in that age group. A stunning and short sighted decision if you ask me. The languages offered are French, Spanish, Latin, Chinese, Japanese and Italian. Beyond this, they are cutting the arts such as the school district's theater program. What I would like from you is a respectful but scathing rebuke of of these decisions. Since you are an educator, perhaps you have a better perspective than myself on what it means to expose kids to foreign languages and culture in that age group. You can make it as long as you like. Take your time and post it here for everybody to see if they agree to allow it to be posted. Otherwise, put it in a PM.

I invite everyone here to contribute something. Those of you who have learned a language, travelled or lived abroad, being exposed to other cultures and customs, can offer another perspective.

Avvocato, when do you want this by? I have to confess, I'm not really in favour of teaching foreign languages at any stage, including 5-11. The way I see it, so long as your Latin is nicely polished you should be able to get by and anything else is a distraction.

Maro,discuss the benefits of a Latin program then, too. I studied Latin in high school and truly enjoyed it. Ita, I can understand your outrage. It is essential that foreign languages be taught to our children. One of the greatest setbacks that we face as Americans is our reliance on the English language. As a populous, we are ignorant and unable to interact with any semblance of tact when we encounter foreign language and culture. What is education for if not to engender in youth the ability to thoughtfully consider and interact with the world at large?
