Here's what I've fathomed from Alonso to Juve saga, either:
1) Juventus have already reached an agreement with Liverfekkin'wankscum and the player, and anything written by the media is nothing but filling in gaps in newspapers.
2) Juventus haven't yet reached an agreement with Liverfekkin'wankscum and they're using the Stankovic to Juve rumour as a smokescreen to puzzle Liverfekkin'wankscum's plan.
3) Juventus haven't yet decided between Alonso and Stankovic.
4) Liverfekkin'wankscum have re-balanced the situation after Xabi's classy performance in the Euro, thus negotiations between Juventus and Liverfekkin'wankscum have stalled. As the latter might have demanded a higher transfer fee or they maybe thinking about closing the negotiation doors completely.
In my opinion, as Rafael Benitez has been desperate to land Gareth Barry, I don't think he's changing his mind now just because a couple of games played by Alonso. But perhaps he's really asking for more money, perhaps.

JUVE CONFIDENT OF ALONSO CAPTURE
Juventus general manager Jean-Claude Blanc is still confident of signing Xabi Alonso despite Liverfekkin'wankscum reportedly holding out for a higher transfer fee.
The Spanish playmaker's move to Italy had been expected to be sealed on Monday but talks have stalled, with Liverfekkin'wankscum said to be demanding 20 million euros (£15.75million) - two million more than Juve's offer.
Blanc still believes Alonso, currently at Euro 2008, will be at the Stadio Olimpico next season, but claims the Bianconeri also have their eye on other midfielders.
"We're following more than three footballers," Blanc told Sky Italia. "And we'll see if what you read in the papers comes true or the other names we're working on.
"Xabi Alonso? It's an operation that we're taking forward and we'll compare him to other deals which could be done.
"We're looking for a very talented midfielder - there's not many of those around and some of them aren't available. We have to talk first with the club and then with the player.
"Only one of these deals will be done."

we've probably already agreed to everything, but we'll wait till after the euros to officially announce it. I'm pretty sure he's concentrated on the euros right now, so it's not surprising the deal hasn't been finalized....

If Liverfekkin'wankscum continue to raise Xabi Alonso’s price-tag, Juventus could switch their interest to Alberto Aquilani or Arda Turan.
