if you go back a dozen pages or so, that's pretty much exactly in line with the prediction the man and i were making, only we had us selling borriello and oliveira and gilardino, whereas we ended up buying borriello back. so right now, we sold the two flops for about 27, bought zambro and borriello for about 18, so we theoretically have another 20 to spend. but i really don't see a lot of potential in our remaining trasnfer season; i see us not getting a keeper, and i doubt we will be getting much else. although, just selling brocchi, even for a bag of chips, would be a positive move, since that would mean the midget would never play for us again.

Yes, the milanisti here have taken to calling Galliani the 'BF', because number one, he is bald; and number two, he is a fucker. So the BF fits nicely, I agree, and has sort of grown with time. BTW, welcome to the forums drucurl. What you been up too all this time?

Milan admit defeat in Ronaldinho transfer race

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted the club cannot compete financially with Manchester City in the race to sign Ronaldinho.


Galliani said Milan and other Italian clubs are being squeezed out of several transfer moves as clubs in England, Spain and Germany have more money to spend.


'I cannot ignore that Italian football is now in fourth position in Europe behind England, Spain and Germany,' he said in Gazzetta dello Sport.

'We simply cannot compete with certain figures anymore.

'Manchester City have offered the Brazilian (Ronaldinho) 12 million euros (£9.5million) a year. We can only compete with that if they (Barcelona) give him away for free.'

Ronaldinho is a no show for yet another year; kind of expected it although I was hoping otherwise. I won't fault the club as the figures Man City and Chelsea are coming up with are simply absurd. But Berlu promised...oh well, I can forgive him if they get us one, just one, world class attacker along with Boruc (or Akinfeev).
Apparently Mutu has been thrown into the mix, something I felt would be inevitable following his wage demands. Not a bad move, would be cheap for now at least...only God knows what kind of settlements we'll have to reach on his behalf.

The more I think of it, the angrier I get at Berlu...not Galliani...the latter has been much maligned on this site (by none more so than The Man) for not getting us the players that we really need. But the fact is that we agreed terms with a bunch of players before Berlu vetoed the moves, Buffon, Toni, Ribery, Zambro...one could go on and on, with the promise that he would bring us the (then) biggest name in football. And we got Ricardo Oliviera whose similarity with R10 begins and ends with their agent.
Again, I don't blame him for not wanting to spend his hard earned(?) money on a has been who may or may not resurrect his career with us. But it does irritate me that the same money he supposedly shelved for the R10 cause cannot be spent on far better targets. Out of curiosity, what can Galliani do in this situation?

And that no CL nonsense is a load of bollocks. Juve spent a season in Serie B and came out the better for it. They made their moves on the transfer market as always and put together a credible squad; not a championship contender by any means, but good enough to build upon for the coming season.
