Well, the one thing we can say about these Azzurri is that they're eminently guardabile. Let's hope that decision isn't costly - no doubt a number of us are inclined to wonder whether the goal might have stood at the other end, as, indeed, one's inclined to wonder whether Ruud's might have stood at the other end.

Holy crap, what a nerve-wrecking first-half. I can only imagine what it must be like if I were an Italian (and hey,I have often been asked if I am). You just get the feeling this is going to be one of those days. Great performance, attacking from the off, moving the ball around beautifully, great support from the full-backs, endless chances with no end result, and then to top it off a goal at last from Luca, which is wrongly called offside. Patience, boys, patience, a goal will come. So much better than Monday. I'm nearly tempted to ask why this line-up was on the field the last game, but I won't.

Just watching the replays of the offside call there, a good three yards at least ON. Terrible decision.
