Guys...how are the news of Spalletti at Chelsea??? Did he really snub the offer?? I dont know why but even though I dont see him coaching there, I am quite worried of what could happen if he was to leave. I really hate so much this fucking Russian full of money....

Buongiorno a tutti. Haven't see most of you guys in a while. As some of you know I got really fed up with alot of the BS at the old site and I just stopped coming around (with life as busy as it was/is) I just didn't want to waste time sifting through pages and pages of crap to find small nuggets of Roma-related discussion so I decided to leave. More recently I've heard numerous reports that things are MUCH better on this board so I've been peeking in to check it out. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you guys again and discussing La Magica. I must say, I'm extremely nervous about the next few months as I feel we are in a crucial time in Roma's history where things can go in any direction.....perhaps that is part of the impetus of me hooking up with you guys again. Anyway, good to see some of you guys again and I look forward to celebrating and/or comiserating with you about our GRANDE ROMA!

I don't know, Tuna, I think this little round of uncertainty could be pretty decisive with Alberto. If the club commits to him and offers him a big contract, then I think he's likely to be here for a while. I have to confess, though, that I'm less certain than some that the club will commit to him. I think Spags thinks Alberto's just a little bit impatient, a little bit greedy in insisting that things happen for him now. I suspect Spags would like Alberto to play it all a little more quietly and let his playing do the talking. I know he's had injury-blighted seasons, but it just seems to me that he feels he needs to play to show his qualities whereas there's a sense in which he needs to get his head down and show his qualities and then he'll play. If he gets a chance at the Euros, I think he might just have a stellar tournament - apart from his obvious qualities, I think the 4-3-3 is perfectly suited to him and he should have more left in the tank than many who've played more games this season. I'm hoping he shows just how good he is and that persuades Rosella to stump up the cash to keep him, whatever it takes. I just get the sense there's a little irritation with his demanding 2.5 mil, as it's being suggested, because he's not yet sufficiently integral to this side on the pitch to be laying claim to that, I think.

maro, I think it's less about Alberto's contributions to the pitch than his "market value". Agents love that trump card. Though subtely different, Mathieu Flamini, a 24yo central midfielder with arguably less talent and less top flight experience, just got 5m per annum for another comparable team. I'm sure you could start looking around towards other similar players who will be making significantly more than 2.5m. In the sports business world, asking for half of a perceived market value is considered a very, very fair deal, regardless of the club's pay structure or what you and I may think.

Then again, I don't buy the media drivel one bit. There's been no direct indication by anyone in the club office that he's asking for 2.5m. I think we've all seen these things turn up false before.

I'm very worried about Spalletti right now men. Chelsea is really pushing to land him as its coach and make no mistake about it, he is seriously considering the move.
