Shield, great stuff about Vuci and the glorious golf cart ride. Reminds me of the night my buddy got a DUI on a golf cart in Rome. Well done Roma. Should I honestly expect this club to win the Coppa every year? Yesterday was a great day. I even managed to shoot an MP5-SD at a rifle range in Virginia. Add on the Roma victory and what an afternoon of fun. It's interesting to read Spalletti's comments regarding the English language. Forza Roma.

According to Romanews Soros is offering about 210m Euros for about 67% of Roma, about 130ish would go to the Sensis as that's market value and the other 70m euros (dodgy math here, since the figure should be 200m, anyhoo...) would buy the rest of the squad from the markets and take it private. Edited to add: Didn't see the 280 odd million offer. I wonder what the breakdown is.

There is one thing missing though and that's the "ok" from Soros. Deal has been agreed to by the Sensi lawyers, Inner Circle sports, Rothschild Bank, Tonucci Studios, a lawyer named Gianroberto de Giovanni...

One thing for sure is that techincal staff and directors (Conti and Prade) are staying for next season and there are only some minor details to be figured out. However, the lack of "ok" from Soros is the big thing. There are a lot more details in the middle that I did not feel like reading/translating though...

While it may be optimistic writing from Romanews (if they are anti-Soros), I can definitely see this thing collapsing, as we've seen it happen before on all kinds of fronts, transfer market included.

Milano, why do you have a photo of Cesare Prandelli, that's him, I think... Mido was at Boro where he was hurt/didn't do to well, so he's not really renewing...

Shield, I know there are other private investors who own parts of Roma, but most of the rest or a good bit of it is in the stock which is floating in the market and that's what Soros is going to use the additional 70 million, or whatever to take the team private.

Ok, forgive my spupidity (to coin SarcasMaro), Jammy, but when you say make the team private, do you mean he wants to wants to own 100% of the club and not have any of it still floating in the market?

Yes. When I mean private, I mean that Soros wants to take it off the publicly traded (ie stock) markets. He doesn't necessarily have to own 100% or anything. Others can own stakes but they would not be floating shares on the market.
