Well said glad. Lippi knew the capability of his players and he knew how to use them successfully. I'm not sure the Don is tactically this adept. He has the horses in the stable, but he must know how and when to use them to his advantage. I still applaud Lippi for how he handled De Rossi at the WC. He started him, and when he was suspended, subbed him in the final and had the confidence to select him for the PK shootout. Really incredible if you ask me. This was a kid who took his suspension so hard that he was inconsolable. Lippi believed in him and the rest is history. This is why I wish Lippi would have stayed around for the Euro.

Donadoni To Axe Oddo For Bonera?

The deadline for Donadoni to name his 23 players for Austria and Switzerland is edging ever nearer, as the tactician will have to announce his squad exactly two weeks today on May 28.

Although 19 or 20 of the players, barring injury, pretty much pick themselves, there are a few positions that are still undecided.

One of these is in the right back role. Massimo Oddo has not had the best of seasons for Milan, and he has also had a recent injury spell on the sidelines.

Since returning to training, he has been unable to find his way back in the Milan line-up due to the impressive form of Daniele Bonera.

Oddo has played just 21 minutes of football in the past six weeks, and his lack of fitness and match sharpness is a cause of concern for Donadoni.

As a result the Don may choose to select Bonera as the second right back option along with RomaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Christian Panucci.

Meanwhile the Corriere also claims that Morgan De Sanctis will be selected as third goalkeeper, while Pippo Inzaghi will be a standby, and will only be called in the event of injury to Marco Borriello.
