Cruz, rinnovo dopo Ferragosto

Julio Cruz e la dirigenza dell'Inter dovrebbero incontrarsi dopo Ferragosto per formalizzare il rinnovo del contratto dell'attaccante argentino con il club nerazzurro, contratto attualmente in scadenza nel prossimo giugno 2008.

Il "Jardinero" dovrebbe sottoscrivere un accordo fino al 2009 da più di 3 milioni di euro a stagione: l'attaccante avrebbe preferito un prolungamento fino al 2010 ma si è "accontentato" del rinnovo di un solo anno anche per la promessa della dirigenza di un incarico nella società nerazzurra a fine carriera.

If there are no objections from the rest of Interisti, I wouldn't mind staying here at all!! The forum in this format is not a problem for me and I find it easy to use with alot of familiar faces. Besides, we've been moving around like drifters the last few weeks so settling is not at all a bad idea.

Knowing Moratti loves a surprise, do you think there's any chance there will be a late bid for Riquelme?? The guys been frozen out at Villareal and wants to leave and I think Mancini and Moratti are admirers of him... I think the general concensus was he was too slow and hogged the ball alot but what do we think here ??

Inter's riches set to rotate for Roma clash

MILAN, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Champions Inter Milan are expected to bring back David Suazo, Luis Figo and Cristian Chivu for Sunday's Super Cup against cup holders AS Roma.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira were among others rested for Inter's friendly tournament victory over AC Milan and Juventus on Tuesday but look set to play in the season's curtain raiser at the San Siro.

Honduran striker Suazo, bought from Cagliari in the close season, has particularly impressed with his goals in preseason while vibrant Luis Figo has vindicated his decision to turn his back on semi-retirement in the Gulf and stay at Inter.

But Inter's resources are so huge that they were not needed for Tuesday's triangular tournament, during which South Americans Alvaro Recoba and Luis Jimenez stood out. Neither player was expected to be in contention for a regular starting place.

"The fact that I have choices ahead of the Super Cup is very positive," Inter coach Roberto Mancini told the club Web site (www.inter.it). "The team is in form and we don't have any problems in particular. There are those who are ahead and further behind in terms of general condition, but this is a normal situation at this stage of the season."

Roma can only dream of Inter's riches and coach Luciano Spalletti has said they need more recruits to even have a chance of competing in the coming season, which starts on Aug 25.

The loss of Romania defender Chivu to Inter has hurt last season's runners-up but Italian media has said they are close to a deal with Real Madrid for Brazil right back Cicinho.

Roma went 2-0 up against Juve in a friendly last Saturday but eventually went down 5-2 in a match which again highlighted their over-reliance on striker Francesco Totti.

I really hoped to see Juan in action here but unfortunately he's picked up that injury. Our team still looks far from fit but I don't suppose anyone is at this stage of the season. Lets hope for a reapeat of last years cup nah as long as there's some goals and an open match it should be good viewing. Atleast it's not always a heated affair with Roma and Inter in the way it will be with Milan and Juve this season.

Cagliari and Parma are battling for Chievo Verona striker Victor Obinna.

The Nigeria international is expected to leave Chievo before the summer transfer window shuts, despite claims from Chievo president Luca Campedelli that he will stay with the relegated club this season.

Cagliari have the inside-running for Obinna, whose future remains influenced by Inter Milan. Inter brought the Nigerian to Italy before sending him to Chievo and they have a 'gentlemen's agreement' over where he should next move.

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino intends to call in a favour after fighting hard to make sure David Suazo joined the Serie A champs earlier this summer in the face of stiff competition from AC Milan.
