Matarrese: `I romanisti devono andare a Catania`

Il presidente della Lega Calcio Antonio Matarrese entra duro sulla questione tifoserie. Quest`oggi, infatti, l`Osservatorio per le manifestazioni sportive ha negato la trasferta di Catania ai tifosi romanisti, mentre ha permesso quella parmigiana per i supporters dell`Inter. La determinazione non e` piaciuta a Matarrese, che sulla questione si e` espresso nel pomeriggio: ` I tifosi della Roma devono poter andare a Catania, questo e` il calcio che vogliamo perche` non vogliamo alcuna disparita`. E una decisione di forza creerebbe una rottura non vorrei che portasse alla rottura dei rapporti con l`Osservatorio` .

Neppure i problemi di ordine pubblico paiono una motivazione sufficiente al presidente di Lega: ` Nessuno mette in dubbio queste difficolta`, ma vanno governate: le forze dell`ordine hanno la forza per farlo. Non sarebbe una passeggiata di saluta, eppure non possiamo pero` accettare questa situazione. Dobbiamo chiudere bene questo campionato` . Poi l`ultimatum vero e proprio: ` Visto che l`Osservatorio dice che rimarra` convocato in seduta permanente fino a domenica, entro giovedi` deve essere presa una decisione concreta` .

i think at this point they are looking to provide the necessary resources to try and overturn the decision. as ita mentioned, they've contacted the mayor of rome and he's agreed to help in providing whatever means are necessary (crowd control escorts, stewards, police, etc.) in an effort to revoke the decision. i still dont understand the hypocracy in allowing the inter fans to travel without similar reservations. sure there were some incidents in rome with catania fans but i do recall only last week seeing a huge contingent of roma fans in the same stadium celebrating a coppa italia semi final victory. also, did i mention about the death threats issued by inter fans to the siena coach?
