De Ceglie Hoping For Juve Return

Paolo De Ceglie is hoping he can return to Juventus next season and he also has his eyes set on the Beijing Olympics.

The left back, currently plying his trade with Siena, has enjoyed a good season thus far and his solid performances for the Tuscan side have helped them move away from the relegation zone.

De Ceglie is co-owned by Juventus and Siena but the young left-back is hoping he can do enough from now until the end of the season to warrant a return to the Old Lady.

Secondo quanto riferito dal "Corriere dello sport", durante il match tra Juventus e Lazio si è avuto modo di parlare del possibile riscatto di Guglielmo Stendardo da parte dei bianconeri. La Lazio si è detta disponibile a trattare, inserendo eventualmente qualche contropartita gradita all'ambiente capitolino, e cioè uno tra Claudio Marchisio (22) e Davide Lanzafame (21), attualmente dirottati in prestito ad Empoli e Bari. Per quanto riguarda lo svizzero Behrami (23), il discorso si fa più difficile, in quanto la Lazio non sembra convinta a privarsi del giocatore che, come noto, potrebbe anche avvalersi della clausola Fifa.

Looks like we just signed Mark Schwarzer as a backup for buffon. He'll come on free transfer (what else is new). Pretty solid move seeing as how belardi sucks monkey testicles, or is that maro? Anyways, good move.

Are we actually going to spend money on a transfer this summer?

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri is set to sign Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer to act as Gianluigi Buffon’s deputy next season.

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season’s two-pronged attack on Serie A and Europe.

One area that needs to be fortified is the backup goalkeeper position, as current number two Emanuele Belardi has failed to impress when given the chance.

The Corriere says that Juventus are set to beat off competition from the likes of Fiorentina, Tottenham, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Celtic to sign Schwarzer, who is available on a free transfer as his contract runs out in the summer.

Schwarzer has been at the Riverside for 11 years, having signed for Boro in 1997 from Bradford City. Previous to this he enjoyed a spell in Germany with Kaiserslautern and Dynamo Dresden.

His first club was Marconi Stallions, from the city of his birth in Sydney. The 35-year-old Schwarzer has made 54 appearances for Australia, and played at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Indeed he was in goal during the Socceroos’ dramatic 1-0 defeat to eventual champions Italy in the second round, when Francesco Totti hit a penalty past him in injury time to send the Azzurri through.

Juve love their Aussie goal keepers. Juve are coming down to Melbourne to play against the Victory in the off-season. I'm pretty sure they'll play at the MCG and it will probably sell out too even though its capacity is 90,000.
