Ibrahimovic Tracked By Chelsea
The Independent claims that Chelsea are interested in securing the signature of Internazionale hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic...



Ibra is a man much in demand, with both Real Madrid and Chelsea apparently on the lookout to secure his services.

The Swedish striker fuelled the fires of speculation yesterday by insisting that he'd like to test his mettle in either the English or the Spanish leagues.

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has already made public his interest in the 26-year-old, but now it's been stated that Chelsea are also weighing up the possibility of a bid.

While the Stamford Bridge side have yet to formally confirm their interest, it is almost certain that they will look for at least one forward reinforcement in the summer, with a big-money move for Ibra far from being out of the question.

Another possibility is that the swap deal mooted for a Didier Drogba - Mario Balotelli trade could in fact involve the Swede instead of the youngster. A Drogba-Ibra exchange may be considered more equitable in terms of age and stature, while it would also allow Inter to hold onto one of their more highly-rated young players.

It's interesting, Frank, that we named our targets. You would think the club would try and keep it's cards as close to its chest as possible!? Sounds suspect to me! It would make sense though; Innler for CM, Konko for the wing and Hleb for CAM/wing. However, it just sounds too easy, right?

Madrid Offer Cash Plus Diarra For Ibra
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Real Madrid have offered Inter Milan €50m plus Mahamadou Diarra for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Italian press has gone into transfer overdrive over the past few days, ever since Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying that he would like to one day play in Spain or England.

Real Madrid, who have been long-term admirers of the Swede, have been strongly linked with a move, and yesterday coach Bernd Schuster admitted his interest in the player.

Siena midfielder Tomas Locatelli will join Inter next season in a politically-motivated move, according to the Italian Press.

The 32-year-old is wanted by the Nerazzurri to replace Santiago Solari [pictured], who will soon be out of contract and is currently looking for another club.

Locatelli, who enjoyed two spells at Milan in the 1990s, has reportedly been bought so Inter can satisfy an anticipated change to UEFA regulations.

In January, FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced he would like to see at least six players from a club's native country compete in the starting 11.

The Swiss was incensed after watching Inter play Juventus last November because there was not a single Italian in Nerazzurro.

Blatter made it clear he would like to approve a proposal called 6+5 at the next FIFA counsel in May 2008 with a view to application in time for the 2010-11 season.

Locatelli will arrive at Via Durini on a free and will earn half as much as his predecessor Solari, who is the 26th best paid player in Serie A, collecting £2.75m per season.

The man from Bergamo is said to have been offered a deal of £1.2 per annum, twice his current salary, offering better value for money.

The experienced Locatelli has made 27 appearances for the Robur this season, scoring three goals.

Arsene Wenger has described Inter Milan's continuing pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb as 'totally unacceptable'.

The Gunners boss reacted angrily when quizzed about the possibility of the Belarus international quitting the Emirates Stadium to link up with the Serie A giants this summer after their coach Roberto Mancini confirmed his interest this week.

Amid claims that Hleb even held a meeting with Inter officials before Arsenal's Champions League clash against AC Milan at the San Siro earlier in the season, Wenger said: "If I want a player from Inter, I call Inter, so if they are interested why do they not call me?

"We will not accept this between big clubs. The way they proceed is totally unacceptable.

"Some Italian clubs are the same, they use the agent to destabilise the player. He Hleb can buy out his contract but not Inter.

"As I said, if they are interested in him they need to first contact me. I want to keep the team together next season. I am stable on that front."
