Headlines sell newspapers and some people in Italy know that to make a name for themselves they need to chase entities that already have names.

It's not the first time.

A few weeks after a court decided that Inter and Milan could not be prosecuted for fraudulent accounting because it did not constitute illicit activity, another prosecutor opened a case against Juventus and Stevens in particular over the exact same charge. In your own words...welcome to my Italia.

I think all clubs were under investigation for 'questionable' accounting practices at one time or another. I remember 4 years ago when the Guardia di Finanza raided the Roma offices. I agree, everything that happens in Italy must be taken with a skeptical view. I remember also, maybe 8 or so years ago, the brain sugeons at the Guardia di Finanza were intimidating small businesses and the customers of these business like a gelateria, salumeria etc, by checking to see if the customer was given a scontrino after the sale of a gelato or a kilo of prosciutto or whatever. If they were sitting outside the store, and they saw customers walk out without a receipt in their hands, they would stop them, take them back inside, and ask both, the customer and the store owner or employee, if a scontrino was given. If not, both could have been charged with a crime.

Can you immagine charging the customer with the crime when it is not his duty to provide a scontrino in the first place. What is a scontrino anyway...receipt right? Anyway, it's just like when they where arresting the Africans for selling their goods on the streets all over Italy. The Guardia di Finanza would go after them if they saw them selling anything. Then, the government got an idea to allow these people to buy permits to sell products on the streets. A novel idea don't you think? I mentioned the other day that it is a crime in Italy to fall asleep while working. "Malicious abandonment of the work place." I'm not joking.

We could talk about this all day long.

Dino, relax. I never gave an ounce of credibility to the Italian Judicial system in the first place. The corruption is interconnected between the Prime Minister, members of Parliament and the Judiciary. What we have is institutional corruption at all levels.

Listen I have no love for rubentus, you know that. But I could understand charging Moggi and the referees. Juve is charged vicariously because of Moggi. I don't think they had to do such a thing given that juve has been punished. Personally, I think the objective is the banish Moggi for life along with the lackeys that cooperated with him. I mean it is interesting is it not, that Papapresta and Ricalbuto had their suspensions reversed just a few weeks ago, and now, they are part of this case. Even Paparesta's father is charged. That's a new one on me.

Those referees being absolved directly aid Moggi in his appeals. Throwing more mud on them buys time and hinders Moggi’s objectives. You are referring to “lackiesâ€

Well, if the referees are interested in working again in Serie A then I can see them cooperating with Figc. They will make a deal and throw Moggi under the train. This is all about Moggi. He can't shut his mouth; he has burned all of his bridges and he is embarrassing himself in that Rome trial right now. The objective is to ban him for life.

I would also be careful as far a commenting what evidence exists to prosecute this thing. These are new charges, and there is more information than existed two years ago which I am sure we do not know about. I am trying to have my friend in Roma, who is also a lawyer, get us some specific information relative to these charges. Although, he thinks I am a pain in the ass because I have him working on the getting us some information regarding the Roma sale to that fuck George Soros. If he can get us the documents, I will let you know.

That Moggi can’t keep his mouth shut may be true but I doubt he’s embarrassed himself in the current trial. The prosecution have left with their tale between their legs on a few occasions already. I find that trial entertaining truthfully.

You don't threaten people in open court unless you are worried about something. Especially a witness that is about to testify who knows Moggi very well. That is indicative of desperation along with abject stupidity. If anybody had their 'tail between their legs' as you say, it was Moggi last week when he encounterd the wrath of the Judge.

You don’t laugh in court unless you are tranquil. Moggi in that trial has every reason to be.

No, that's not true. I remind people who fancy themselves psuedo lawyers that I am one, and then I ask, "what law school did you go to...." Then, the next time they will keep their mouths shut so I don't have to waste my time responding to the illogical arguments of layman.
