I think you'll find mine's a slightly different kind of bike. Avvocato, I thought there were some good posts over on that board, but almost all of the points were ones you and others have brought up over here. Some of them were a bit too quick to leap down Benzi's throat over his reading of the Livorno game, but the more general observations made a lot of sense. I wonder where we'd be had we been the ones to pick up Luca over the summer. Perhaps Vooch wouldn't have had the chance to come into his own as he has and perhaps the whole balance of the squad would have been so shifted as to make comparisons simply impossible. Still, he would have made a difference in all sorts of ways.

Well at this point I think I am willing to accept Eskimo owners as long as it means for money for this team...screw 'the spirit of Roma' and all this other BS that ya'll are talking about...screw the 'pretty play'....fuck it all. I want money; I want results. I'm so fucking tired of losing to fucking Man U and Inter that I'd chop off my right foot just to see us win. Enough already.

Mexes: Milan? No grazie, sto bene qui



«Galliani e Berlusconi mi vogliono? Ma pure i tifosi della Roma mi vogliono e io resto. Il contratto ce l'ho qui e ci sto bene». Philippe Mexes non ha alcuna intenzione di andare al Milan, anche se alla società di via Turati piacerebbe vestirlo di rossonero magari all'interno di un'operazione di mercato che porterebbe alla Roma Gilardino o Borriello. «Io so cosa voglio- dice il difensore giallorosso a Sky- Io ho firmato qui l'anno scorso e sto benissimo». Tuttavia nel suo contratto c'è una clausola secondo la quale la Roma sarebbe obbligata a cedere il giocatore qualora un'altra società, gradita a Mexes ovviamente, si presentasse a Trigoria con un assegno di 16 milioni di euro: «La clausola è una cosa normale, una garanzia. Ce l'avevo anche prima di fare il rinnovo del contratto e non l'ho usata». Ha preferito restare alla Roma pur rinunciando a più soldi, a differenza di quanto hanno fatto altri (vedi Chivu): «Sono rimasto perchè la società voleva trattenermi e sentivo anche l'appoggio del tecnico. Ho tutto per essere felice. I soldi? Io guardo alla mia famiglia e non è che più soldi ti cambiano la vita. L'importante è essere felice e giocare a pallone». Niente altro. Infatti quando gli chiedono se conosce George Soros, il magnate americano intenzionato a comprare la Roma, Mexes candidamente risponde: «È chi è? L'americano? Un americano a Roma? E che è un film?» Per ora sì, ma potrebbe presto diventare realtà.

The guy is such as example. I just wish what he says will last and other players are feeling the same way.
For sure we need a new owner with more funds to keep the best players from the team in a longer term. However, I fear that with a new owner and big money, this kind of love for the city, the jersey and all will slowly disappear as we may attract some mercenary.
Anyway, there's no choice right now...what we want is really to be able to compete with stronger team. I pray for a new owner who will be wise enough for us not to become a Madrid or Chelsea, etc...
For now....just enjoy what Philou is saying....we may not hear it for much longer from the players who will come in Rome for the money.
