I haven't posted in months but I figured there wouldn't be a better time than now to write a little something.

Like most of you I have not slept very well for the last couple of days. Especially after finding out both Totti and Juan are out. I feel sick right now and will probably be shaking with nerves throughout the game. We have more depth than last year but a couple more players would have been a godsend. With the yellow card situation we will need a miracle to get to the semifinals. All we can do is go out and play our game. This team cannot sit back and hope for a clean sheet. It hasn't worked all season. Especially at the end of games. United are probably going to play 4-3-3 and if Lazio could shred our defense playing the same formation I am scared to think what United will do to it.

Good to see you about again Totti_10. Everything is against us with this tie. Injuries, suspensions, potential suspensions, questions of who to play, fear of a repeat of last year, the fact that ManUre are on such good form, even Maro being confused for a Manc and being thrown in in jail while in Rome (he sent me an email, apparently they're allowed laptops in the cells over there)... I agree that we will need something special to progress to the semi's. Something really special. Can this team do it? We all know they can. We all know they're is enough talent and skill in this team to beat them, even without Il Capitano. I just hope the players believe it enough themselves.

Ferguson never gambles in Europe and I think that has cost them in the past. If he does line up Carrick, Scholes and Hargreaves, I think we will be able to defend against them. Aa long as we don't give a goal we are in good position. I would prefer Cicinho to Cassetti. I am not much of a believer in Cassetti even when he is in good form.

I would overlap with Cicinho on the right side since Taddei will be able to get back and defend. I probably wouldn't ask too much of Tonetto and let Mancini attack Brown one on one. Brown does take cards pretty easily. I believe in Vucinic up front as he does offer something different than Totti. Although even on his bad days Totti creates a lot of Roma's scoring opportunities. The English broadcaster for Fox always mentions how it is too bad Totti can't pass the ball to himself to finish. I still think Vucinic is up for it. We should start quickly because guys like Scholes and Brown can pick up a card very easily. In the end we still have enough players to get a result at home. Some have to come up big but we have grown a lot over the last couple of seasons. I remember posting on another forum with many of you when we were hoping Roma would beat Fiorentina in a penalty shoot out so we could qualify for the UEFA CUP. Things have improved a lot.

Ferguson never gambles in away games in Europe and always sets out quite a defensive formation away from home. Here's a question: can anyone remember the last time ManUre won a meaningful away game in Europe? I certainly can't. Two draws away to us, a draw away to a Lyon side who are not as good as they used to be (when we bet 'em), a capitulation away to Milan last year, the year before that they lost away to Villereal and Benfica failing to even make it out of the group stage. They have not been impressive away from home and if we are to progress we need to ensure that continues, as we need to be going to england with an advantage.

Cassetti or Cicinho is a close call. Cici offers more offensively and has great pace, and we are at home and so could do with that, but defensively I feel Cassetti is stronger and would offer better work-rate and energy against C. Fagaldo. And I wouldn't mind seeing Giuly link up with the LitM, but that would probably mean sacrificing Alberto, so perhaps springing the little Frenchman from the bench at some stage is a good call too.

Maro is in Rome, although not especially for the game, but I think he did mention he might look into trying to get a ticket for tonight, although it would be quite difficult considering its a sell-out and has been for a few days. I was telling him he would fit in the away section quite nicely.

E' Walter Mazzarri il tecnico più ambito del momento. L'allenatore della Samp, autore di un'altra stagione trionfale dopo la promozione in A col Livorno e le tre salvezze di Reggio Calabria, attira l'interesse di mezza Europa. Oltre al Galatasaray che ha fatto un sondaggio senza esito, Mazzarri sarebbe nel mirino della Roma. Se parte Spalletti, il tecnico di San Vincenzo è in pole position anche rispetto ad Ancelotti. La Roma infatti ritiene che Mazzarri, giovane e preparato, potrebbe raccogliere l'eredità di Spalletti senza alterare gli equilibri dello spogliatoio e al tempo stesso, vista la resurrezzione e l'ottimo rapporto con Cassano, gestire i big giallorossi senza sudditanza alcuna. Dal Portogallo infine giunge l'indiscrezione che Rui Costa, alla ricerca di un tecnico per il Benfica, abbia ricevuto da amici italiani ottime informazioni proprio su Mazzarri e stia valutando l'ipotesi di contattarlo nei prossimi giorni. Mazzarri ha un contratto con la Samp fino al 2009 ma c'è l'accordo con la dirigenza e il presidente Garrone che se arrivasse un'offerta prestigiosa sarebbe lasciato libero anzitempo.

I have to say that I'm sick of this fucking shit the media continue to print about Spalletti leaving for Milan. There is not even a hint of truth to this rumour. It is a mere creation of the press by those who are not the biggest Roma supporters in the world. What makes me most angry is that stories such as these are timed in a way to do damage to the team right before a big match.

i'm so nervous at the moment. so nervous! i just wonder what the players must be feeling at the moment, considering what i am going through as a fan. maybe they are better off since they are somewhat in control of their own situation. i cant do fuck all but stew and hurl insults at my t.v. - totaly helpless. i just hope i dont find myself curled up in the fetal position in a dark closet after the game. this is crazy.
