This morning as I walked to work I thougth about how truly pathetic Roma has been in games where pride is on the line more than anything else.

Exhibit A: Derbies. We won one and Lazio won one. That sounds reasonable until you consider how much more talent Roma has than Lazio. Roma should not lose either game.

Exhibit B: Juventus. The team that many of us actually hate more than we hate Lazio. We hat this team for numerous purely objective reasons. While I would love to see Lazio go down to Serie B, I would really love to see Juventus vanish from the face of the earth. I hate this team. So do Totti et al. Roma's record against the most unholy of clubs this year: zero wins, one draw, and one loss. Pathetic.

This season Roma have played some beautiful football. This season Roma has been the one team in Serie A to try to go punch for punch with Inter over the course of the season. This season Roma has returned to the final eight in the Champions League, knocking out Real Madrid in the process.

This season Roma has won one out of four games against our bitter rivals and hated enemies. That is why I am upset.

Perspective....We're the only Italian team left in the CL last 8, were within a stone's throw of Inter in Serie A with an easier schedule down the road, we're in the Coppa Italia final (realistically), but STILL we'd all take a bat and crank everyone on the team and their grandmothers for what happened yesterday.

Well, Populusque, I guess the point is that none of us are calling for Spags's head or demanding a change of tactics or a complete overhaul of personnel - that would entail a loss of perspective. Rather, we're just really pissed off with the way the boys didn't turn up again last night. Most of all, I'm just pissed off with it as a one-off (or, as Grasso says, a three-off). I think this team is capable of some good stuff, but last night was very, very poor.

Cheers Dejan, same to you. With Easter Friday and Easter Monday over here we have a nice four day weekend, which is sweet. But of course, we all know and appreciate the true historic meaning of Easter – the 1916 Rising, many Sundays ago.

I'm nothing willing to give up all hope of a scudetto just yet. This weekend we have what looks like a sure three points on paper against Empoli (touching wood), while Inter could bottle it under the pressure and lose to Juventus, and the gap will be down to four points, and who knows from there. We just have to hope we don't let the diabolical performance in the Derby effect us too much.

Hey shinpin. That's a loaded question. Quite frankly, I don't know where it came from. I love Roma first and foremost. I have supported the team since I have been old enough to understand the Italian language. I may have been born in Calabria, but I was raised in Roma from age 2 to 17. I suffered through the 70's when we had some pretty poor teams. I was initiated as an Ultrà in 1975, and sat first on the Curva Nord, before moving, when all the groups agreed to assemble at the Curva Sud. It was a great time to be alive, even though our team did not cooperate by winning. Neverthless, it was my generation of Roma fans that laid the groundwork for the modern day fan. The passion for Roma was born at the Olimpico in 1972 and it continues to this day.

So, there is no enigma. I love Roma and I hate rubentus because they have been a fraud for over 30 years. As a side note, I have been in a few physical confrontations with those pussy Giuve fans, and I have the scars to prove it. Those are my credentials. Lets hear yours.
