Donadoni sticks with trusted lineup

There are no surprises in Roberto Donadoni's 21-player squad for Italy's friendly game against fellow UEFA EURO 2008Ã¢â€žÂ¢ contenders Spain in Elche on Wednesday.

Buffon back
Juventus pair Gianluigi Buffon and Mauro Camoranesi have returned to the squad after missing February's 3-1 win against Portugal in Zurich due to injuries. However, Bianconeri captain Alessando The Waterboy was again excluded from an attack which includes Marco Borriello and Luca Toni, the leading scorers in Serie A and the Bundesliga respectively. After visiting Spain, the Italian Football Federation have confirmed that the Azzurri will face Belgium in Florence on 30 May in the last friendly game ahead of the finals and also announced that there will be no further discussion about Roberto Donadoni's contract, which expires in July, until after the end of the tournament in Switzerland and Austria.

italy is beating Azerbaijan 1-0. Rossi scored, giovinco set it up. It was probably an attempted shot rather than a pass though, right glad? :lol:

I won't blame him for the "penalty". We knew going in that we had to play a near prefect game to win. I just remember one instance against Germany when I believe it was Klose who hit a rocket shot just outside the box and Buffon got his hand on it. Two players were coming at both Cannavaro and Materazzi. Cannavaro already had one man marked. Marco was sucked inside by going for Cannavaro's man and gave Klose the chance to get off a clear shot at Buffon. Neverthless, the old Matrix played the best football of his llife at the WC. He deserves credit for that. But this is a 'what have you done for me lately' business. He can go to the Euro as a sub, but that's it for me.
