Populusque, Oily's just trotting out the unthinking party-line at Liverpuke at the moment. The fans there are ridiculously greedy and when things weren't going so well towards the end of last year they manage to turn the owners into the scape-goats. No doubt Hicks and Gullet [sic] have done some stupid stuff, but the fans are just after more money to bolster the side and are fairly content to ignore the fact that the yanks brought Torres and Mascherano and now Skrtel to the club for big money. I don't like the style of the two yanks, but given that the fans are desperate for them to sell to a Dubai-based consortium or, previously, to Thai money, you can see what sort of soul this venerable club has. Oily, of course, just laps it all up like he loves to with the sweat from Stevie's g-string, but then why would one ever expect a more balanced or critical eye from him?

Jamoldo, I understand your sentiments that there is nothing wrong with a foreign owner for Roma if they're heart is in the right place. Say if Maro was to cash in on his sheep-prostitution empire, or if Grasso was to sell all his nationwide trailer-park outlets, or if we all here put our savings together and bought out the Sensi's. Basically someone who is a fan, or someone who has a genuine interest and respect for the club and the city and the fans, and not someone who sees it purely as a money making scheme, ala Glazers or Hicks.

But I would be with Italiamia and hope that if the Sensi's to decide to sell that priority would go to an Italians, someone like Gaetano Caltagirone (the 5th richest businessman in Italy: ) or Claudio Toti. I am sick to death of the way the EPL has seen a massive influx of these American and Asian investors coming over and spending a bit of pocket money on a club and playing real life Football Manager. These clubs and the national 'english' league is losing its identity, the next step being these proposals to play 'english' league games around the world. I would hate for that to happen with Roma, even if it did mean Spalletti suddenly had €100m+ to spend on new players. There isn't one foreign owner in Italy like this and I hope it remains that way.
